Kirumi Tojo's Palace | The Ultimate Maid's Failures

By now everyone may be used to find themselves in bizarre locations, between going into palaces and visiting Nekyia. It might not come as a surprise that it has happened again.
What might come as a surprise, though...is how empty this place is.
All around you there's nothing more than a large, gray, featureless expanse. In the distance there seem to be bars, curving upwards to gather so, so high above you, possibly hundreds of miles above, so high it’s hard to distinguish.
It’s a cage. So unfathomably large. You could escape, were you to get to the edges of the cage, but...it would take forever. No matter how you look at it, you're trapped. The atmosphere is so...hopeless. Devoid of anything even remotely positive.
Not that you want to hang around for long, do you? After all, this is someone's palace. Not a place to stick around at. What to do, though?
It’s all so...empty. Silent. Featureless. A flat expanse of hard gray tiles.
Gather together, everyone. Gather and choose a direction. North, East, West, South. All directions look completely identical, but could it affect your time in this place, somehow? Probably not. But all treks start with the first step. Perhaps, if you get moving, you'll progress?

MECHANICS
There are four legs, so to speak. The default is that everyone will be able to ascend their spider thread, despite the many differences in physical skill ando/r endurance. That said, if you want someone to have trouble or to interact with other characters to be able to climb at the start, by all means, go ahead! The floor is yours, do what you want!
Every time a character makes a move to ascend, I'll roll the die. 1-10 means you'll have trouble ascending because, as you may guess, Monokuma would rather you to die than to get to the top. You'll see what kind of trouble it'll be. At that point, you roll die to see how well you're faring, again with 1-10 being a failure and 11-20 a success. Rolling 11-20 when ascending means you're fine.
If you're being accosted by obstacles, feel free to play out how that goes, any way you want! You want your character to overcome it by themselves while having injuries? Go ahead! You want your character to need someone else nearby to assist? Certainly, that's fine! You want them to accidentally let go of the thread and almost perish but someone else saves their life? Fun, do that! You have a lot of freedom there.
Using your Personas is fair game, as long as what you do isn't, like, clinging to the Persona and flying all the way to the top or using it to ascend a section. Play fair!
As mentioned, it's four legs, so that's four times you need to ascend. Good luck.
............
Also, the instant McGillis gets out of the Exisal, the Exisal just floats away as if it was a balloon made of helium or something, vanishing up to whatever's at the end of the spider threads.

Aubrey perhaps didn't see this coming, given how the bones are starting to attack others...but in her case, the spider thread recoils, getting entangled around her wrists, making rather difficult to move. It's a good thing this is happening when she's relatively close to the ground -- being hanging like this when you're like eight stories above ground level would be terrifying!]

Bad luck! The Exisal that's floating upwards ridiculously brushes against the thread Soujuurou is holding onto. The thread gets entangled with one of the Exisal's legs, and while it tries to float away, the thread shakes, threatening to make Soujuurou fall down.
Down below, the water churns, and bones arrange themselves as spikes, preparing to receive Soujuurou and inflict some gnarly injuries if he were to fall!]

But indeed! Fray gets to the second leg. This one and two more ahead!
Fray is about three stories above the water. From the wall on the other side of the pit, a compartment opens. There's Monokuma]
See ya!
[The compartment opens more, revealing a cannon. Watch out while ascending this leg! Good luck with the rolls]

McGillis just kind of looks down at his arms for a moment. His right arm is still... not good. It works fine in general life, but it gets shaky when he tries to grip something tightly and he has trouble raising it above his head. Surely that is... great for climbing.
And nevertheless. An attempt to ascend is being made. ]

McGillis seems to be targeted very intently! Did Monokuma sense that McGillis wasn't taken aback in a way Monokuma had hoped for, when he showed Kirumi's sins? Maybe.
An entire skeletons forms and starts climbing the thread McGillis is at. With a screen, it clamps its bony hands onto McGillis' leg, trying to tear to reach and cause grievous damage. The bones of the fingertips are sharpened, for some reason, and the weight is unnaturally heavy, for a skeleton.
Yeah, while some are accosted by varied bones, McGillis gets an entire skeleton to deal with]

After the kids are loaded up on their threads, Kainé will begin her ascent.
Nick's nat 1 already went to McGillis so how bad could it be?]no subject
By the virtue of roleplaying choices, Sayaka and Yoon and some of the others are ahead of Kainé. When she begins to climb, a lone cannonball fired towards someone else comes hurling down towards Kainé, with the bad luck that, if she's not quick, she could get hit by it.
I haven't ever been hit by a sphere of dense metal dropped on me at high speed, but I assume that'd hurt like hell!]

Shalem lets go of the terrestrial snake life and has to learn how to be an arboreal one. Bones below futilely try to splash water to make the thread wet. Shalem can feel the water coursing down his fingers...but it can't stop him from ascending to the second leg. You have this one and two more ahead!
Shalem, you're three stories above the water. From the other side of the pit, the noise of grinding stone against stone may get his attention, due to how loud it is. A hole has opened, and there...there's a wooden spike there, Monokuma in a hurry to aim it towards Shalem.
Danger! Good luck when climbing!]

He gets to the second legs. This one and two more ahead!
Three stories above the floor, the wall of the pit opens up, an Exisal is right there. The machine seems poised to grab onto the spider thread Aaron is climbing, ready to give it a vigorous shake.
Good luck, Aaron! May the dice favor you so you get through without that problem!]

Yoon gets to the second leg. This one and two more ahead!
The thread Yoon is using is very close to the wall. Behind him, the wall opens, and there's Monokuma]
Oi, do me a favor and let go.
[And he proceeds to literally reach and poke Yoon on the torso with a claw. He's trying to make Yoon drop from three stories high by poking at his nerves and make his hands let go! Hope luck is favorable to you, Yoon!]

Hey, at least it seems it's going without much trouble! Joshua is already doing well, going to get to the second leg. This one and two more remain!
His attempts to climb were successful despite the attempt of a bunch of ribs to clamp onto Joshua and bury its bones onto his torso. That'd have been painful! Doesn't take too long for him to be beyond reach for those.
What awaits him, though, may be more unexpected: snow.
A bunch of snow begins falling onto Joshua. At first it's a few sprinkles, but if he looks up, he'll see a lot more coming towards him. Watch out! Good luck with the roll]
