Kirumi Tojo's Palace | The Ultimate Maid's Failures

By now everyone may be used to find themselves in bizarre locations, between going into palaces and visiting Nekyia. It might not come as a surprise that it has happened again.
What might come as a surprise, though...is how empty this place is.
All around you there's nothing more than a large, gray, featureless expanse. In the distance there seem to be bars, curving upwards to gather so, so high above you, possibly hundreds of miles above, so high it’s hard to distinguish.
It’s a cage. So unfathomably large. You could escape, were you to get to the edges of the cage, but...it would take forever. No matter how you look at it, you're trapped. The atmosphere is so...hopeless. Devoid of anything even remotely positive.
Not that you want to hang around for long, do you? After all, this is someone's palace. Not a place to stick around at. What to do, though?
It’s all so...empty. Silent. Featureless. A flat expanse of hard gray tiles.
Gather together, everyone. Gather and choose a direction. North, East, West, South. All directions look completely identical, but could it affect your time in this place, somehow? Probably not. But all treks start with the first step. Perhaps, if you get moving, you'll progress?

Shalem lets go of the terrestrial snake life and has to learn how to be an arboreal one. Bones below futilely try to splash water to make the thread wet. Shalem can feel the water coursing down his fingers...but it can't stop him from ascending to the second leg. You have this one and two more ahead!
Shalem, you're three stories above the water. From the other side of the pit, the noise of grinding stone against stone may get his attention, due to how loud it is. A hole has opened, and there...there's a wooden spike there, Monokuma in a hurry to aim it towards Shalem.
Danger! Good luck when climbing!]

He's going to be fine-- maybe? No? In any case, he climbs faster, and he really has to be glad for all of his fieldwork and training that he's not tiring. Yet.]

The spike juts out at high speed, aiming for Shalem. He climbed up just in time for the spike to go right where he was, the bottom of his shoe grazed by the rough wood of the spike. Monokuma throws an insult at Shalem and closes the hole on the wall.
Shalem is now six stories above the water. From below, as the consequences of something that'll happen to someone else, Shalem will notice...his spider thread is burning up, from somewhere below him, the flame ascending upwards. Watch out!
May the dice roll favor you when you try to ascend and/or avoid that!]

He doesn't stop to see what the result is, though. He just keeps climbing because there's absolutely no way he's letting this damn bear toy knock him back down (14).]

One of the ice crystals covers the fire, extinguishing it. The thread has burned until up to the third leg, but it's not like Shalem will be returning downwards. That should be no problem.
Shalem gets to the last leg. If he can overcome this, he'll get to the edge of the pit!
There's a strange image where the threads hook with the ceiling. It's like a sun. Shalem might see it, and when he does, he'll see it's starting to shine brighter, and brighter, and brighter! It's trying to blind Shalem. Even if he closes his eyes...does he really want to close his eyes while he's hanging from a thread twelve stories high?
It's the last stretch, Shalem, pray the dice helps!]

Take a breather, Shalem, you deserve it. And probably be really glad you got through this without injury!]
