Kirumi Tojo's Palace | The Ultimate Maid's Failures

By now everyone may be used to find themselves in bizarre locations, between going into palaces and visiting Nekyia. It might not come as a surprise that it has happened again.

What might come as a surprise, though...is how empty this place is.

All around you there's nothing more than a large, gray, featureless expanse. In the distance there seem to be bars, curving upwards to gather so, so high above you, possibly hundreds of miles above, so high it’s hard to distinguish.

It’s a cage. So unfathomably large. You could escape, were you to get to the edges of the cage, but...it would take forever. No matter how you look at it, you're trapped. The atmosphere is so...hopeless. Devoid of anything even remotely positive.

Not that you want to hang around for long, do you? After all, this is someone's palace. Not a place to stick around at. What to do, though?

It’s all so...empty. Silent. Featureless. A flat expanse of hard gray tiles.

Gather together, everyone. Gather and choose a direction. North, East, West, South. All directions look completely identical, but could it affect your time in this place, somehow? Probably not. But all treks start with the first step. Perhaps, if you get moving, you'll progress?

anyway he for sure blasted some of those bones that were trying to clamp onto him with a bless spell because if they're in some godforsaken circle of hell these bones had better be weak to bless. thankfully he manages to ascend to the second section even with that setback, it's fine, he'll dia himself when he gets to the top.

the snow catches him off guard, though, and the cold from the snow makes him lose his grip on the thread slightly (10).

[ He's not sure how much this will help, but Yoon will attempt to shove some of the snow out of the way so it falls away from Josh. I rolled a 4 but he's trying anyway. ]

[It was an attempt to help indeed. Joshua would feel Yoon's attempts pretty much push Joshua's head to a side. While it does get snow off Joshua, that still can't have been great to feel when you're clinging to a spider thread several stories above ground!

I find absolutely hilarious that, unintentionally, Yoon turned into the obstacle Joshua has to deal with now]

[ Yeah, PVP sounds about right.

Argenti currently happens to be up rather high, so he is limited in what he can do, but there are other options. Such as having him to reach out to other threads that people are not hanging onto, grabbing onto some nearby, moving them to and fro so that they converge closer/near Joshua rather than hang farther away.

So, Joshua has the option to grip a hold of more than one thread now with a hand or leap onto another thread. Does he take it to get away from more potential snow? ]

[Joshua is having such a terrible time. First he has to exercise, and now he gets snow and also pushed his head away by Yoon and now failed to get himself safe.

It's only thanks to Argenti's intervention that Joshua doesn't suffer a terrible fate. Joshua may not even realize when he got his fingers onto a thread, but there he is, on the verge of the third leg. This one and another one waiting ahead.

Watch out, though! The wall of the pit near Joshua opens, and there's Monokuma]

Ah. You dropped this.

[Somehow, Monokuma brought all the way here the bowl where Joshua had burned his 250K people paper doll. Without hesitation, Monokuma uses Garula to fire all the ash in Joshua's direction, a cloud of stinging ash enveloping him. Watch out, Joshua! Good luck rolling -- you never know what dangers may lurk while you can't see well!]

or at least, that's exactly what joshua is thinking when that garula blows all that ash in his face, and it's really hard to see or breathe for a moment.

that said, he did manage to get up to the top of the third leg and onto the final leg before it impaired his vision too much (19) except that avrae decided that he's permanently debuffed now (3) from all that ash. guess he's blind now. ]

[Joshua is having to climb without the use of his eyesight! Better open those ears, my friend, because it can get ugly if you don't.

For example...around him, he can hear the voices of those he's in this palace with. They're nearby. Not too much longer, and he can get there.

There's also the sound of fire.

To his right, it sounds like a campfire, followed by the woooooosh of embers crossing the air towards Joshua and the spider thread he's hanging from.

Burn it away, make him fall. Harm Joshua and kill him. Simple objectives, pursued relentlessly. Monokuma doesn't want to end this without at least one dead body]

[ you nerf one sense and you somehow heighten all the others, because it's the last leg now and despite the ever present threat of fire ringing in his ears joshua is relying on both his hearing and touch to hoist himself up that last leg of spider thread to get to the top where everyone is (20). there will be no death today, you stupid bear, even if it does come close with how the spider thread joshua was on burns clean and snaps just barely moments after joshua pulls himself over the edge.

he's covered in ash (and snow), probably, and looking a little bit worse for the wear because damn, that was extremely high to climb up, but now that he has a Moment to recover, he's stalking over to the edge.

monokuma is still by the wall, right?






anyway joshua is just going to casually blast that fucking bear with a nat20 kouga spell, and if monokuma happens to fall into that pit from the whiplash? ]

[Oh, you definitely get to blast him with Kouha. That bear deserves that and a lot more, be sure of that.

Joshua can't see it, but Monokuma falls into the pit. It's a shame that won't be enough to get rid of him forever, but that won't remove the satisfaction of it nonetheless!]
