"On behalf of the Prince-- Pharaoh, I will the right your wrongs!" Shouts the woman, and she even poses and points. Something about her pose seems familiar... Don't worry about it. "Where that door leads is forbidden to you even as guests of the Pharaoh!"

Palladium Priest Mahaad & Mana are ready to fight!

And Mana opens with her Black Burning spell which misses Soujuurou (4), does light Nuclear damage on Richard (13) does light Nuclear damage on Mafuyu (13), and misses Sou (4). Richard is inflicted with Dizzy, but Mafuyu is spared!

[The thing about Shalem right now is that he is not okay. As people have noticed in the mural room, and even now, when he refused to caution anyone about what he was about to do-- and in fact, that he did anything at all should have been a clear sign.

And yet here he is, uncaring about what's happening to literally jump straight into battle, a loud, maniacal laugh coming from his own mouth. Mana pings him as the more forward one because of her opening spell, so Shalem aims for her with a Giant Slice (18).]

Wait, then why do we have to fight?! Why not just send us back outside?

[ soujuurou will go ahead to try and disarm mahaad by reaching to grab his wrist (19) ]

Try as he might to disarm Mahaad, something strange happens: Soujuurou's physical attack is reflected back, and deals the same damage to him (19)?!

[ soujuurou hears a crack as he connects and, oh cool, his wrist is broken. there's just a slight wince of pain from him as he pulls back, hand limp by his side. ]

Don't attack him physically!

[ oh look, this is a fight encounter that he didn't start for once. ]

[ anyway he still hates fighting in enclosed spaces and i guess everyone chose violence for once instead of going the pacifist route, but he's going for a giant slice (10) on mana since she opened the fight first. ]

Anyways, have a Maragi (14, 15) as he arrives in the basement.]

[ Well, Sunrise supposes it's not surprising there's a fight because they're trying to go somewhere they aren't supposed to go.

But then she sees Richard get hurt right in front of her and her response is to quietly use Giant Slice on Mana (16) without hesitation. ]

Mana tanks every hit thrown at her--- while they connect, she appears to resist Physical, Psychokinesis, Fire, and Ice! She follows Mafuyu's Matarunda with her own Matarukaja.

Mahaad, however, takes double damage from Aubrey's Mabufula and Haruka's Maragi. He quickly casts Mirror Force in response on Mana to reflect any more incoming Physical attacks!

[Well, since he has now gotten a grasp on the situation, he's going to go ahead and cast Diarama on Soujuurou. Stop punching things!!! Idiot!!!]

( since there's a moment, she's going to cast diarama on herself. )

[Shalem immediately turns his head towards Mahaad, his attention caught by the spell he cast. It looks like a support spell, or a healing one, and he knows immediately that this needs to be handled.]

Oh, what's this? You're covering for her? That is not allowed! [He summons Orpheus and casts Bufula on Mahaad (18), uncaring of the fact that the spell drains his energy-- he saw what attempting to touch Mahaad physically did. But maybe the cold will make him cool off.

Especially when he has no shirt.]

[Fray's following Shalem's lead here, as support spells?? Usually not a good thing. He's attacking Mahaad with Thunderous Rage (12)!]

[ well, he did say not to hit him with the physical attack, and his wrist was broken by it, but he can tell that there's some sort of support spell cast on her and, well, seeing that all spell attacks aren't working...

he'll just use his other hand to try and land a punch on mana (14) ]

Mana's Reflect is broken! Soujuurou takes damage (14) to do it.

[ Sunrise tries to use Garula on Mana...only to totally whiff it (1). ]

[ Wow! That's annoying. Yoon uses Dragon's Claw (12) on Mana, dealing light nuclear damage. ]

[Sees Soujuurou try to hit someone with some kind of protective spell on them.

Casts Diarama on Soujuurou to try and help him when he reaches the 'find out' stage of that FAFO.]

"Master!" Mana calls out to Mahaad as he's forced back by the other's onslaught.

Shalem's Bufula (18) and Fray's Thunderous Rage (12) deals double damage on Mahaad! Mana's looking wearier, too.

"I'm fine, Mana," Mahaad rises to his feet, staff posed and ready to cast. "Focus on the fight."

"But the Prince... if you were to die..."

"Focus on the fight!"

Mana winces and turns back to face the others, "Black Burning!"

She hits Fray (9), Shalem (6), Sunrise (8), and Soujuurou (13) with light Nuclear damage! No one is afflicted with Dizzy.

Mahaad readies his staff, "Black Magic!"

He hits heavy Nuclear damage on Argenti (14)!

( ...

mafuyu casts marakukaja to raise the party's defense, but she steps forward a little. )

Please. We only mean to defend ourselves- and we'll continue to do so- but we want to help him, too. Something is wrong, and it's hurt people in the past- myself included. All we want is to soothe it.
