post palace takeout! [week 5]
( at some point a bedraggled lot in yukatas manage to make their way to the dorm, shower and patch themselves up. and then mafuyu makes a very earnest request that they all go out for dinner, and, well, apparently many struggle to refuse her.
this is how they find themselves in something akin to a denny's or an ihop at like, midnight.
as one does. )

[ His voice doesn't indicate any sort of judgment or snark behind it with the remark. Just a comment based on his observations. ]
You are also noticeably injured, nobody would fault you if you needed rest.

[ Yi Sang is such a quiet dignified presence that it's difficult to get a read on him from afar, but McGillis could have easily pictured him just retiring to bed instead. ]
As long as I don't move too enthusiastically, the injury will be fine. After our heals, it's fairly shallow now.

I have learned... That I would rather not forgo these moments. As we continue to progress with our time here and together, I would like to have them to look back on, as small as they are.
[ The smile is to say he's happy McGillis came, even he isn't the type and like the others, wouldn't be upset if he chose not to come. ]
This is a fittingly humble celebration. I think everyone here is behaved or tired enough to not cause any ruckus.
[ No meetups to fight in the parking lot this midnight. ]

[ Will it be the Izou/Eli fistfight of the century? Is Argenti going to climb a table to hold a speech? Is Sunrise going to wander off into the staff area? Endless possibilities. ]
I might even welcome such a mundane crisis, after the bizarre day we've had.

[ This would be the second time he's been told to not jinx anything tonight—
But it get a sound from Yi Sang that either a gasp or a short laugh. ]
For most, it should be considered bizarre. You are accustomed to some amount of combat, correct? But handled differently from what we encountered.

[ Well, he was, before the treason. But that's neither here nor there when it comes to his qualifications, surely. ]
But normally my battlefields aren't shaped by my opponent's internal trauma in such a literal fashion.

I am... rather familiar with the notion of suppressing literal "Abnormalities" borne from abstract notions within the human mind, as well as the more... distinct manifestations brought about by an individual's overwhelming emotions distorting their physical form and consciousness. The similarities of those to here have been rather sufficient in this endeavor.
[ How he has rights to that braincell, really. ]
I would assume those battlefields you treaded upon were shaped by more realistic circumstances that would bring one into the arms of conflict. But practical expertise seems to apply rather well to this matter. Conflict seems inevitable.
[ It be the law of JRPGs or smth. Guilt, PTSD, and trauma probably shouldn't be handled like this. ]

Certainly. This may not require me to apply any strategy or tactics as I have learned them, but basic combat training is still coming in handy every step of the way.
I feel for those in our group who came here from entirely ordinary lives. The spells our Personas are equipped with may carry them, but they are still placing themselves in more danger than the rest of us through their inexperience.

Ordinary... Yes. I have witnessed the tragedy that befalls when there are no such protections for the unprepared populace.
[ Yi Sang has a rather morose expression thinking back on it. Those who live in the "Nests" live comfortable lives and are kept in the dark about Abnormalities, and especially Distortions. When the Abnormalities were freed to wreak havoc... there was quite a death toll.
But he understand McGillis' viewpoint. Since McGillis is unfamiliar, it's seems to be a kind of unexpected sympathy. ]
Even if wounds can be healed by those same spells provided by Persona... those wounds and trauma are likely to still linger for those unused to them and that danger. But... they carry surprising resolve. They do not wish to be left behind.
