[ The teahouse group have returned! ]

Mr. McGillis and I tried to enter the teahouse through the back since it did not seem like we would be welcomed as customers. We met one of those shadowy figures at the back door, but...

[ Sunrise holds up a metal object in her hand so the others can see it. It is thin and flat, shaped like a segment of something round (like a pie slice). The round outer edge is gilded like the flat surface, but the straight sides are just the raw darker metal underneath. ]

He gave me this and said we will need it to find the demon. I think it is a part of a sword's hand guard.

... Interesting. Perhaps we need a sword of this era.

Perhaps. This is only a part of the handguard, so I wonder if there are other pieces we will need.

... I know a shadow has been observing me. I am going to try and confront it- if it could help us, it will be worth the risk.

Also, I feel as if being watched now. I am uncertain if I should mention this now, as it is quite a familiar feeling for me to experience.

Not at all...potentially. I merely tried to speak to the lady at the teahouse...which shouldn't be too offensive or unusual.

[ ...She pauses like she's considering whether what she heard is particularly important or relevant information, but then decides that since she's not sure, she may as well just say it anyway. ]

The shadowy figure also said some other things.

"That demon doesn't even fight with a proper sword style. So unrefined…"

"He's like a dog picking up scraps of sword technique wherever he can find it."

[ Here comes Eli jogging back, holding up a very similar segment triumphantly. He has successfully fetched. Good dog. ]

Hey, there was this weird shadow lady watching me and she gave me this thing! Is it important?

[ Wait...what, he'll look over at that. That's twice (thrice) now with the shadows, should he go ahead and chase whatever is watching him down now.

Provided whatever it is still watching?? Is it??? ]

[He does still feel like he's being watched, yes. Whether or not that's related to the shadow men giving treats.]

[Celeste still feels like he is being watched. But there isn't any more shadow men in the vicinity, no.]

[ For this being Izou's horrible and likely to be depressing heart palace, Eli sure is having a good time. First, taking that guy out with one shot, now getting an Important Item. He beams at Mafuyu. ]
