Through the door is a narrow hallway, dimly lit by a single flickering lightbulb hanging bare from the ceiling. Although one of the doors is blocked off by massive, heavy boxes, there is a door down the hall hanging open, as well as a ladder that seems to lead to the attic.
The door turns out to lead to the bathroom. Much like the rest of the house, the room is dim and in disarray, with piles of dirty laundry on the tile flooring and cracks along the walls.
More importantly, there is a Shadow by the sink cabinet, gripping something in its hands before it tosses it into its sack. It backs away, gaze wary...
[What the hell is that thing. Given that it is now trapped in here(?) with Fray, he may as well attempt a more peaceful approach than immediately going for his blade.]
[Hmm. You know, maybe running off on his own wasn't the best idea in an unfamiliar area full of enemies. Particularly when he is a Utility fighter. Hmmmmmmm. You know what's an even worse idea? Sticking around and trying to handle this on his own when he's already taking a beating.
[ The judgement. Look, maybe he had decided to follow the one guy who went off on his own because he also thought that was a stupid idea. Maybe he should have said something. Who knows now. ]
[But now that there's two of us vs three of them, the odds are slightly better so! Let's go. Fray summons the Fallen to join him and opens the door. His followed up Mazio spell is supposed to strike all three enemies with lightning damage, but uh... (3) So yeah. That goes about as well as expected.]
[ lmao see this is why he said to stay out of the way
Eli adamantly does not summon his Persona, but he dives in after Fray opens the door and does his own thing. He lashes out with the spikes of ice that had formed over his fists, flinging the spikes in a spray of icy little blades with his Mabufu spell at the trio of monsters within the bathroom (6, 14, 20). ]
Sandman 1 cackles as the mabufu misses, hopping from one foot to another in a taunting dance! The two other Sandmen are not as fortunate, giving pained squeals as they are hit.
Sandman 1 casts Dormina on Fray - and misses! (10)
Sandman 2 casts Garula on Eli - and misses!! (5)
Sandman 3 casts Magaru on both - and misses!!! (6)
[A nice turn?? A nice turn for Fray??? Impossible. Anyway, Fray's going to go ahead and aim another Mazio spell at the three of them (because I missed that last time whoops) and while results are... mixed... (8, 20, 7) at least he got one whole hit!! Incredible. The dice are so kind today.]
Ha, what?! Think you're getting off light, you smug fuck?!
[ Eli pivots as the Sandmen all miss and launches himself at the first one, planning to beat the dancing feet right off the little shit, but, uh, he sure misses (1). Sure misses by a lot. He probably slipped on some mislaid soap on the floor, too, because he's careening past into the bathroom sink instead. ]
Sandman 2 screeches as it's struck by lightning! It seems that attack was especially effective!
Sandmen 1 and 3 continue to laugh mockingly at Fray and Eli's failed attempts to hit them - only for the smug looks to be wiped off their faces when Schneider hits the both of them. It doesn't seem to hit as hard as the lightning, but it does still hurt.
Sandman 1 casts Magaru right back! It misses Fray and Schneider (6, 4) but crits on Eli (20). Thankfully, he is not weak to Wind, so while it hurts like hell it is not a second Fray situation.
Sandman 2 is not looking good... it tries to cast Dormina on Fray, but misses (10).
Sandman 3 attempts to cast Garula on Schneider, but also misses (4).
[Hmm. Honestly, both routes are most likely to be dangerous dead ends, but since the door is already being covered, Richard is going to head for that ladder.
Surely this will not be a terrible life decision.]
[Kainé's AI might frequently send her plummeting off into the abyss, but luckily this is not really a video game! Probably. She'll ascend before the two kids she fought the horse monster with, at any rate.]

Open the door and stay out of the way. [ He raises a fist, brass knuckle gripped loosely as spikes of ice begin to cover it. ] I got this.

I'm not leaving you to handle them alone.

[ Eli zooms by as Schneider continues investigating and instinct has her shooting the Sandmen with Magaru (14, 3, 16)]
