[Haruka looks over at Yoon, and—that's a hell of a question, isn't it?]

...Because he said he'd make me his son, but it was all a lie. He took me from Japan and trained me to be an idol, only to say the way he was training me was a mistake, that I would never make it.

[His smile is crooked.]

I spent years of my life in America, trying to be everything that he wanted me to be only to get thrown away. I didn't even speak English when I moved there, but I learned because I was desperate. I never had a father in my life, and I was a kid who thought a dad would make things better for what family I did have. I was an idiot.

[Can Haruka really blame himself for buying into Kujou's promises when he was just a child? Isn't he the one to blame for all of it, being a grown man who knew what he was doing.]

And I wasn't even the first failure he had had. I wasn't even the first kid he had dragged away with promises of a bright future. Can't even say I'll be the last, either.

[ What the hell is wrong with these parental figures, man. ]

No. No, it wasn't a mistake. You see that, don't you? You wouldn't be so confident in your performance if you believed that you couldn't make it. You proved him wrong, and you should do it again!

[ And that is something Yoon is incredibly proud of. He doesn't know what America is but like...he can tell this is kind of a big deal. ]

And you're not an idiot for wanting a better life for yourself. That's how I felt all my life, until Ik-soo found me. You know that.

[ He gets hit by Shalem's Vicious Strike and it looks like Shalem is trying to pick Haruka up, but Yoon tanks the hit. His defense buff may not be active right now but he will take it. He'll tank it again if it means he can save his dear friend.

Well. Before Haruka might be literally carried away, there's one thing he wants to get out there. ]

But...you don't have to keep hurting people to be loved! [ Look at Shalem. Look at him!! Yoon points at himself. ] Even if – even if it's just one person, two, three, or many more, people care about you. You've been so kind to me...I'm not going to give up on you!

For a second, his gold eyes look a bit warmer, less cold and cruel.]

[He presses his lips together.]
