Kirumi Tojo's Palace | The Ultimate Maid's Failures

By now everyone may be used to find themselves in bizarre locations, between going into palaces and visiting Nekyia. It might not come as a surprise that it has happened again.

What might come as a surprise, though...is how empty this place is.

All around you there's nothing more than a large, gray, featureless expanse. In the distance there seem to be bars, curving upwards to gather so, so high above you, possibly hundreds of miles above, so high it’s hard to distinguish.

It’s a cage. So unfathomably large. You could escape, were you to get to the edges of the cage, but...it would take forever. No matter how you look at it, you're trapped. The atmosphere is so...hopeless. Devoid of anything even remotely positive.

Not that you want to hang around for long, do you? After all, this is someone's palace. Not a place to stick around at. What to do, though?

It’s all so...empty. Silent. Featureless. A flat expanse of hard gray tiles.

Gather together, everyone. Gather and choose a direction. North, East, West, South. All directions look completely identical, but could it affect your time in this place, somehow? Probably not. But all treks start with the first step. Perhaps, if you get moving, you'll progress?

[After some deliberation about smashing the cameras, she does finally get in front of one - maybe a little too close.]

It's Kainé. Open up already, or I'll bust you into scrap metal.

The camera's lens snaps shut, the light turns off. Woah! It's not cooperating with Kainé. Rude camera! There's no doubt Kainé is still being monitored, but it seems the camera is trying to avoid her.

Too bad for the camera, it's an inanimate object]

She’s not exactly unhappy for the lens clipping shut, even though the sensation of being watched never really goes away, either.

If it’s bait, she walks right into it, and she’ll try to pull the tripod down to get the camera’s attention back. Didn’t they want her to do the stupid puzzle?]

Hellllloooo? What’s your deal, got a problem with someone looking back at you, you ugly son of a bitch? Guess if you had balls, you would be watching through that thing anyway.

[You have gained one (1) camera, Kainé! The tripod is no match for her, and although the camera is remarkably heavy and pretty big, she'll find she can do whatever she wants with it!

Hey. Got it! [After a slightly off-balance stagger while she adjusts the unexpectedly heavy camera, she hoists it to show the group. She actually looks a little proud of herself and might be smirking just a little.

The negative review (but middling score) doesn’t seem to bother her, at least externally. But if someone else wants to pick the evaluation up and read it, they sure can.]
