Allowing someone else to take the role may be part of the pressure he is feeling.

...I suppose passing the role onto someone else could help, but...

We'd have to see about what might work best for him.

[ Argenti isn't exactly discounting the idea but at the same time when it comes to unseating rulers, well. He isn't entirely sure if that's going to fix Atem's problems either, until they know more. ]

If he really wants to keep the role that badly he will do what it takes to keep it.
