Week 2
WEEK 2
WAKE UP, GET UP, GET OUT THERE.
- Saturday rolls around and characters may see that there are notices from Mina, saying that everyone will be taking a trip at noon sharp on Saturday, and to have their weapons. Whether characters pay this heed or not, they will in fact hear a ding from their phones at noon, their screens glowing a sunset red with the word "TRANSFERRING..." the only thing to be seen. And then, just like that –
You all enter.
The new world before you can be described in one word: twisted. It doesn't feel great, but it doesn't feel extremely awful, either, depending on how you look at it – it's a distorted version of the already grim city that you've been brought to, and you are specifically in the shopping district. Everything seems to be darker shades of red, yellow, and purple, if you can see it through the haze ominously floating about.
That feeling of something stirring in your chest seems to grow stronger, more potent, burning with the desire to be let free…
…and you, all of you, are surrounded. Various monsters and demons are threatening to attack you, looking at you like you are their prey. That's because you are…but you don't have to be for long. The moment that you engage in battle with them, no matter who strikes first, is the moment your emancipation begins.
Welcome to your awakening.
You feel a surge of energy rush to your palm – for some, it burns like a fiery blaze. For others, it sparks with electricity; perhaps wind circles around it, or a mysterious frost begins to blanket it. Maybe you have a mysterious pink aura around it, or a bright turquoise light; a dark, sinister glow or a calming light. Whatever the case may be, it drives you to place your hand over your heart.
You latch onto something. It is not your chest, it's not your heart, but it's something deeper than that, something from your being. You pull, you drag it out, and there is no bloodshed or any sort of pain, only a very bright light and some struggle as you unearth what is within. You finally, finally feel free as a new part of you literally stands before you. Say hello to your new friend: Your Persona.
Your new skills feel intuitive, and you feel like you can navigate them well enough to at least try to survive. You don't need to question how or why you understand them just yet; all you need to do is let yourself experience your power, and you'll stand a chance.
And with that, it's time to fight.
(Note: Weapon attacks will always deal Phys damage, but Phys spells will naturally do more than just whacking enemies with your weapons. Go wild, dodge, parry – combat is more freeform here than it is in Persona, so play this out however you'd like.
Furthermore, you'll be able to see everyone's cool Personas! You just won't be able to really interact with them directly.)
???
- (Picrew by ~danidoninha!)
After the battle, there's the sound of a whistle. Turn your heads towards the source, and…huh? A cat?
"Alright, newbies, it's time to roll out."
…And it talks???
She says it with a scowl on her face, and soon, she leaps up – poof, and suddenly, there is a cat train in front of you. Weirdly enough, this cat is the one driving it. How did she summon the train…who knows.
"Get in, unless you wanna get your asses kicked!"
And sure enough, she's right, because there seem to be more enemies flocking towards you. She will drag you all in whether you like it or not.
SAFE AREA.
- And, after a quick ride on the cat train, you find yourselves back at the dorms! ...Kind of. Much like the rest of this alternate world, it’s distorted in shape, though there’s none of the haze you saw when you first arrived. It seems this area, at least, is safe - characters would be wise to note it as a location to base any Nekyia operations out of in the future.
Mina is also here! She looks, quite frankly, relieved to see everyone show up alive in the train. The train, by the way, is gone, because it seems like your mysterious cat friend is now back to her…first…form? And seems to be on her way out. Back to Mina, though:
“Thank goodness... Okay, um, app hiccups aside...
Welcome to the Nekyia - the world of the unconscious. As you can see, the unconscious version of the city is, um... Very, very messed up. The more commissions you complete, the more connections you forge, the more bonds you repair, and the more Shadows you take out will help return the Nekyia to normal - and with it, the real world!
The people of this world don’t have the power to summon Personas... You’re the only ones who can save this city from the influence now. So please...
Help me fix this city from the inside-out!”
Mina has also set up a folding table set up with divinity cookies and water bottles from “Ambrosial Water Co”, judging by the labels. Characters who partake in these proffered snacks will find them rejuvenating - literally. Using a Persona’s abilities takes spiritual energy, but these snacks replenish one’s energy to full again with a single bite or sip. Any characters who want to try venturing back into the thick of the Nekyia today are free to take some with them, but do take care! Mina is only providing snacks for today, and after this characters will need to monitor their energy levels on their own.
Characters with further questions may ask Mina and she will do her best to answer! You can also try to catch the mysterious cat from earlier, too.
To go back to the real world, all characters need to do is press the "RETURN?" button on their phones. Much like the "TRANSFERRING..." message, this is the only thing on their screen.
All phones will now have a Nekyia app that will enable them to come in and out of the Nekyia at will.

My brother is a knight as well...well, kind of like a knight. He's a very brave warrior. You two would get along - he would be asking so many questions about your goddess and even more about your skills!
no subject
[ Look at that, he's almost causing someone else to sparkle as radiantly as him! He can already imagine what it'd be like if a bunch of people were running around, sparkling. Truly, it'd be a blessing granted by Idrila. A wonderous sight that only brings joy and Beauty wherever that light shines. ]
Does he wish to become a knight? What inspired him to take up the mantle of a warrior? I also wonder what he's like. I can only in turn be curious, you see.
...Though, if he is as inquisitive as you say, I would be most glad to write down all that I could about Idrila, as well as the Knights of Beauty. But, while each skill is specific to each knight, the details of our power are unique to the point that writing out even my own may be impossible to put into words. Still, I can note down specifics about my power training, if that would please you?

[ Falin seems to talk about death so casually - it was something she had experienced a couple times now so it wasn't odd for her to speak of. But talking about her brother was her favorite thing to do ]
He is a wonderful person! He has the best impression of a dog that I've ever seen!
no subject
Argenti is blinking, surprised at the part about dying there because that is definitely more than one person dying it sounds like, and yet they were all fine? Oh, right revival. That sounds like a blessing indeed. ]
I...am most glad that you all managed to be blessed with those who can revive you all from death. Truth be told, that isn't quite an easy feat, isn't it? It must be quite taxing for those to perform such a specialized skill.
You don't seem too troubled by the incident either. I assume because you managed to escape with your lives?
[ It is a little beyond what he can even imagine and he is surprised that she can speak of it so easily, but perhaps it is living through it at all that gives her the—
—that comment about her brother gets something like a little laugh. Undignified, alas. But one nonetheless. ]
My apologies for that little outburst. I've never heard anyone say that about their family member before. I just have to assume his impression of a dog is very memorable and quite well done indeed!

[ Falin laughed a little bit with the other - sometimes she knew how silly it sounded, but it was true! Her brother was very good at many things, in her opinion. ]
We did escape with our lives - there were times when it was scary, but my friends and my brother have always been there to help out. I certainly wouldn't be here today without them.
no subject
I am glad that your friends and your brother have always been there to provide you most valuable assistance! There is always something wonderfully beautiful about being able to count on people in your time of need. And, of course, have it be those you know well that support you.
[ He then does a 'let's walk' hand motion so they can move and talk at the same time. ]
Do you mind telling me what your friends are like, Miss Falin?
no subject
[ Falin is blushing a little bit, almost fidgeting with excitement to tell someone about her friends. ]
Well, there's Marcille. She is an elf and my closest friend. She is a very powerful mage! She can be a little particular about things but that's what makes her so amazing!
Then there's Chilchuck, a half foot. He is the smartest when it comes to dungeon layouts, traps and other hidden secrets! He's got three little girls and is very considerate of the team, even if he doesn't say it outloud.
There's also Senshi who is a dwarf; my brother and the others just met him and he is an excellent cook. He utilizes all types of natural ingredients! I haven't gotten to know him as well as I would like but once I get home I will!
[ Finally taking in a breath, Falin looks a little sheepish after going on for so long. ]
no subject
[ Argenti is most certainly gladdened to hear about these folks. Marcille, Chilchuck and Senshi...they must definitely be good companions of hers in order for her to so excitedly list them off, including their positive qualities and skills.
He can believe that he too would depend upon these folk in a heartbeat!
As such, he doesn't seem to mind that she has gone on quite a bit on them. ]
I too understand the value of friendship.
Though it is rare I travel long in the company of friends, there is no doubt I have made a few through my trips. I hope you continue to treasure them, no matter where your journeys after all of this takes you, Miss Falin.
no subject
[ Falin smiled warmly to him- tilting her head as she also wanted to know the same. ]
What about your friends? Could you tell me about them? I'm certain they are as polite and genuine as you.
no subject
As for my friends...
[ There's a pause as he considers this with a little, but thoughtful smile that turns slightly wistful.
Yes, he has met many in his travels, and it is true that he has a small group of friends to discuss. He has faith that is something that will never change.
So, extending a hand as if upon a stage, he speaks vibrantly and excitedly, green eyes shimmering alight with vigor and exuberance. ]
I have come to know of those who call themselves the Nameless - Trailblazers that travel across the galaxy to chart places unknown and known. They are all individuals with their own unique personalities, and though I have yet to know them intimately, I have come to cherish their presence all the same.
There is Caelus, who is a radiant and pure young man that is unique in every sense of the word. He is talented in gathering support from many corners of the universe. Yet, personally, as an individual, he holds an incredible sense of humor, an undeniably blindingly admirable bravery, and a desire to see those he care about to safety.
Next, is March 7th, a young lady who is brilliant with her beautiful exuberance, blooming in conversations with striking ease, and on the battlefield with her fearsome capable in wielding weaponry. She gets along well with many within a heartbeat and I can understand why.
Followed by the wise Welt Yang, a good sir that has doubtless has weathered through quite a variety of experiences from his journeys throughout the universe. Yet, his calm aura is a beacon of Beauty in of itself, a bright light that shines splendidly upon those who have the pleasure of speaking with him.
There is also Dan Heng, a quiet man who is cautious in many respects, though he is quite strategic and intelligent in a novel way I have had yet to have experienced. No one can deny how much he cares about his compatriots, however!
Then, there is the discerning Lady Himeko; a fine, beautiful woman who conveys her intentions with ease from the start of any conversation with her. She is a strong, reliable leader who remains stalwart and steadfast even in the worst of situations. And, all the same, a welcoming and kind presence that will raise the spirits of any who cross her path.
Finally, one who is not among these Trailblazers, but is a dear friend no less, would be Boothill, a relatively new but rather dear friend. He is what many may consider loud, brutally honest, but truly kind. He is the type of person you can truly rely on to have your back when all seems lost.
no subject
How wonderful! It sounds like you have many friends as well. At home, we adventure into the dungeons and hire others. We have been able to meet many people because of that and I think it is wonderful.
It sounds like something similar happened to you; or at least that you have met many friends on your own adventures.
no subject
Yes, well...to be frank, I met my Trailblazing friends whilst we were all trapped inside of a large creature, and had to find a way to expel the train and my ship from it to escape. Haha, imagine that!
As for Boothill, it was definitely random chance on my adventures, indeed.
Oh, but, we've certainly been talking here for quite awhile, haven't we? I do not wish to keep either one of us from proceeding forward. That said, I believe we shall make good friends M...oh - excuse me - Falin.
[ Politeness nearly interceded there, but he recalls her preference of address, and is accommodating for that, at least. Still, Argenti gives a bow, polite and easy, a content smile making its way across his face. ]
And I do look forward to us teaming up once again in the future.
no subject
[ Falin smiles happily to the other; what a delightful person to meet! She gave him a bow. ]
It's been a pleasure speaking to you!
