[Thank god for Izou's loud volume coming in handy for once--]
Wei-san and I went upstairs to the...third floor--we were being watched by some kind of shadowy figure the whole time--he looked like a tall man, but there were two items that appeared. I wound up messing with the cross I found.
It turned into a painting of this...hmm, how do I describe it...this impossibly beautiful kind of lady, and she was...very enchanting. I got a little distracted before I saw that she was raising a claw at me, and jumped back.
The painting went back to normal after, and she wound up...speaking to me. I think. I can't tell if it was something she'd said before, but...
"You passed the trial now. But you must know that it is your lot in life to experience many trials. The day you fail, is the the day you lose all that you are."
"The day you fail, is the the day you lose all that you are." I wonder what that means, exactly.
[Like was it "the day you stop being useful, you die" or what... Hmm. There's much he doesn't know about Argenti's past and beliefs; things he's silently kicking himself over for not having asked about earlier. It would've been tremendously useful to know more...]
Regardless, we know what our next step should be. If we're ready, should we proceed upstairs?
Sounds kinda like the same situation I was in. Once I got caught, Takechi sensei wrote me off and refused ta help me. Savin' his own skin was more important.
[So he's understandably Not Happy to hear Argenti's so called goddess was saying the same thing.]

[ Huh. Would that mean those are words THEY've said to Argenti? Or maybe, all THEIR knights. ]

You know. Sayaka probably should have--]
That'd--that make the most sense, wouldn't it?
[GUESS WHO DID NOT THINK OF THAT...HOW COULD SHE BE SO BLIND TO THEIR RADIANCE...]
...I wonder if that's something that Argenti-kun would have been told, by her, then.

[ Speaking from current experiences? Never. ]
But with gods involved, it might well be more sinister. We're bound to find out soon enough.
no subject
Indeed we are. I trust we're all prepared for a confrontation, should it go that direction?

Though I can't use my dominant arm to fight, so I'll have to rely on my persona entirely.
[ Giving that as both a warning and an explanation for why he might stay further in the back. ]

Don't push yourself if you can help it. We'll cover for you as needed.
[We can all manage to work together for a little longer, right? Right.]

[entirely the god of conflict's doing, she almost wonders, but--no. She won't put that on what she hopes is THEIR good name.]
I'm ready when you all are. I...I can't imagine it's kind to keep him waiting.
[...She's not excited about this.]

No. He's been patient with us thus far, let's not keep him waiting much longer.
[Time to put on a show.]

...I would prefer to avoid dragging Maizono into such a conflict, but I suppose it can't be helped.
[if we've gotta fight a god in this palace than she's got just as much a right to be here as the rest of us.........]

Or just a really gorgeous woman. I don't know if those usually have claws, where Argenti is from.
[ That'd be normal for Maika, but hey. Enough teasing this poor flustered kid. ]
Mm, sounds like it. Best guess, anyway.

I mean...I'd hope not, but...
[A-Anyway--]
She must have been someone significant to Argenti-kun, at minimum at least.
