[ She's gonna go check out those red curtains. Anything behind them, anything noteworthy? ]

[ As we're sliding into my nebulous family vortex hours, for the moment Maika will be shadowing Aerith while she looks around. If anything in those curtains jumps out, her claws are ready!! ]

[ There doesn't seem to be much here but a startling amount of darkness no matter how far one traverses down this way or that. Though, there are whispers that start to abound for those that remain stubbornly or persist. It's hard to tell what they are saying, and they sound more like hissing sounds even to those who listen ardently, but they doubtlessly reach the heart of those who lends it an ear.

...yet there is a sinking feeling that something else isn't right; is it the vibes? Surely that must be it. If they eventually drive themselves away from the area, it is easy to catch sight of the statues even from afar.

Most look fiercer than before. Whereas they were innocent or just odd, the robed and knighted ones now appear to have the wide maw of some identifiable creature with sharp fangs, and claws reaching out as if ready to ensnare any who come too close. ]

[ She pulls back from the darkness behind the curtain, letting go to take a look around the room, trying to identify what it is that feels so wrong.

Then, her eyes land on those statues. ]

Uh oh...

[bloodandstars]

[ Yeah... "uh oh" about sums that up. What the hell?

She kind of wants to peek into the darkness again to see if the statues change again. ]

Is that some kind of warning not to go poking around back there? Or do they just change every time?

Seems like a warning to me, but... wanna see if they do change?

[ She looks at Maika. Are they moving the curtains again? ]

[ Who is going to tell them not to do unwise things? Not Maika. She gives a little shrug. ]

We're not getting anywhere without taking more risks. Let's go.

[gardenful]

You've got a point.

[ Then...

It's time to try this again. Aerith grabs onto one of the curtains and looks beyond it again, just to see what happens. ]

[ Nothing happens this time! They merely get to see darkness...just, infinite, complete darkness. Not unlike the void.

...Except just like with Eli, there are those sounds which are more like whispers that start to increase in intensity.

If they linger, something unfriendly is bound to make its appearance. ]

[ Sorry to Maika, but Aerith is going to make an executive decision here and let the curtain fall back into place. Those whispers are a bit much, and their growing intensity alerts her senses to danger. ]

...Looks like nothing else is gonna happen out here, but I have a bad feeling about what will come out if we keep this thing open.

I almost wish it would.

[ She'd like something to fight, thanks... But she'll defer to Aerith's opinion as the more qualified Argenti wrangler. If that's her intuition, it's probably right. ]
