You are correct about that, technically. Humans can be very ugly when they are tarnished...however...

There is beauty in the fact that they can change for the better. Become even better versions of themselves. It seems like something Argenti would believe.

"Tarnished" means something that can still be restored and brought back to its original state. It's about still being able to change and become better. I think that's how his mind works.

I wouldn't say pretty well, but we had a very wonderful conversation about our worlds and our friends when we were first here. I was able to grasp a lot of his personality from it, though from what I'm gathering, all his conversations with others seemed to be that way.
