CW: Allusions to human trafficking below!!! Yoon is on a ship. The ship is filled with women who have clearly been taken here against their will, but everyone is in tact. He is on it. Yoon is panicked. Yoon is worried, but he has a job to do with Yona – infiltrate and stop the operation.
Princess Yona is there with him. A burly man walks in, the lord of the schemes, and grips Yona by the hair. Yoon stands up to try and save her, but instead, he is punched in the gut and collapses onto the ground. He is shaken. He is hurt. He is weak.
He is incredibly powerless.
Thankfully, Yona is spared.
Everyone else can see images of the Dragons and Hak – fighting, destroying their enemies – flash through the air. ]
[ And when the scenery clears, the plants have merged into a giant, wilting flower. It lifts its head like it wants to hurt you all again, but a voice calls out. ]
Please...stop...!!
[ Words from the Palace owner himself, perhaps, because when you open your eyes, someone is there, angry... but only for a second. Then, he disappears, just like the blond man did earlier.
The flower, however, is standing...but it does not move. You do not need to roll for this turn. Any and all attacks will cut it down with a big group effort. ]
Oh. This young lady... it slowly comes back to him. His voice drops barely above a whisper and more pained than what he might (or can) feel about his own injuries. ]
[Sayaka's hit with the pollen, and she feels her entire body tense with what she sees. She clutches both her knife and the one Yi Sang so generously donated to her, and she works on trying to cut that flower down.]
Yoon-san--Yoon-san, we're here, we're coming to get you out of here! We promise!
[She's so thankful to both the Diarama from earlier and pure adrenaline, but man is dual-wielding weird--]
( mafuyu- has always been afraid. but seeing the boat... it's a different, awful, sickening fear. she squeezes her eyes shut, stopping any misting in her eyes, and even seems to not breathe for a moment-
[ Ah, there he is. Aerith can't help the small smile tugging at her lips when Yoon appears, even if it's brief. That kindness... he's still in there somewhere, she knows it. That kindness is held back by shadow, but it'll shine bright again once they can clear the fog that's set in on Yoon's heart.
So, Aerith stands at the ready with a Mahouka aimed straight at the flower. They'll get through this, she knows it. ]
[He wanted to be stronger. He wanted to be like them.
It takes Fray a little longer than usual to recover after this one, but he shakes his head as if to clear it and readies his sword. He's been on Utility duty for far too long, it's time to fight.]
We're leaving here together - all of us. We'll find you soon, Yoon.
[But those plants need to go, and Fray moves to slash his sword through them.]
[ soujuurou yells out his name, reaching out to the figure of yoon-- but sees him disappear in the blink of an eye. the young man grits his teeth, racing towards the flower and pivoting his body into kicking it with as much strength as he can manage.
he doesn't know what to do with that memory. he has no idea what that could have meant-- but he understands fear very well, and that's enough to get him to react. ]
[Someone asked to stop, and so Shalem does-- and luckily in time, he was about to cast again. But now he starts looking around, looking for the speaker.
He even tries to chase the boy, but... no, he's just gone before Shalem can even reach him. All he can do is wrap himself up again and warm up. Everyone else has the plant covered.]
[Another memory, and it's an unpleasant one, too. It makes him click his tongue, because it evokes a memory of his own -- but he shakes that off easily enough not only at the sight of the giant flower standing before them, but also when Yoon's voice rings out.]
...Guess I oughta thank you for that later.
[And with that, he steps into a series of arcing slashes aimed at the base of the plant, trying to sever as much as he can with his strikes.]
[The memory is... disturbing. Distressing. She feels sick to her stomach, frankly, and it leaves her dazed for a moment after it fades, forced to wrench her attention back on the flower monster before them.
But then... a figure flickers into being, however brief, and she can't help but crack a wane smile.]
...Heh. Thanks for the save, Yoon.
[At least she's assuming that's why the plant stopped. Not that it will matter much soon - because she steps forward and strikes it with a Giant Slice]
[ The memory makes something hot flare up within Sunrise, something that she doesn't often feel, but when she did, it was a fire that threatened to burn her inside out from how much it wanted to escape into the world and set it aflame.
It's not quite the same situation, she knows, but it mirrors one of the first things she "remembered" closely enough that she wants to burn the people who hurt Yoon the same.
So maybe this is why she simply stabs the flower with the kind of brutality only possible when something is boiling underneath. ]
[The content of the vision is unsettling. The actions of Yoon in it; however, is not surprising.
And neither is the appearance of the palace's ruler - angry, but... helpful?
It's still Yoon.
There's a choice to make - listen to the shadow and stop, or take advantage of the flower pausing to cut it down with ruthless efficiency. Most seem to be taking the latter path - and if one considers that maybe the plant stopped because Yoon exerted some power to make it stop, to give everyone a chance?
Well, he'd be remiss to let that chance slip by, wouldn't he?
So there's one more Giant Slice to cut the plant down to size.]
