( at some point a bedraggled lot in yukatas manage to make their way to the dorm, shower and patch themselves up. and then mafuyu makes a very earnest request that they all go out for dinner, and, well, apparently many struggle to refuse her.

this is how they find themselves in something akin to a denny's or an ihop at like, midnight.

[ Help. This is the last place he expects to hear that. But the awe and wonder as Eli reads the tiny description is worth it. Smart guy is picking up that this is all very new to Eli, so have at it. ]

Some get lucky at an unfamiliar establishment and find what they like on a menu easily, then always order it. Others might keep trying different items to no avail.

Ha, you don't even know how much I love food. I'm definitely going to be the type that wants to try it all.

[ Yup! When it arrives sometime between tags, Yi Sang motions for him to enjoy it. ]

It's a style of restaurant. You play a flat fee for entry depending on the day of the week and time of day... and you can pick anything from their selection with few limits aside from your appetite and time. The term would "all-you-can-eat".

[ Yi Sang, why you over here describing literal heaven...? ]

W-wait, I just pay once? And I can have whatever? As much as I want?! All I can eat?!

[ The enthusiasm is nostalgic for him. ]

Yes. While I prefer more specialized restaurants, there are people who want variety. I hope this city can offer such a thing... it's easy for everyone to enjoy it.

[ yanks eli away from the gates of heaven. ]

I hope that doesn't ruin your appetite for what we can have now at this hour... Please enjoy your sampler.

I mean, I'll take any restaurant, but I sure hope I find a buffet.

[ If he does, he'll invite Yi Sang... and they can both be kicked out together once Eli eats way too much for his presence there to be profitable. In any case, he digs into the sampler with gusto. ]

[ It's fine if they get kicked out, at least it's not Eli on his lonesome. Plus there plenty of restaurants


Yi Sang digs into his own plate almost normally... No, that's a lie. It's not a great quality meal obviously, but Yi Sang seems to go the more burnt parts of the food first. ]

If this is all new to you, then it might be worth enjoying what this city has to offer. While I can't speak for a buffet until I try to look it up, the ones like this are common place.

Other places would likely offer things like samplers and large combos. For newcomers.

[ The temptation to tell Eli to pretend he is ordering for a whole family... He could put away that much. ]

[ While he does note Yi Sang going after the burnt bits first, well, sometimes you just like things burnt. Not the first person he's known to be like that. ]

[ The abrupt way he says it is probably funny. Like any notion that this man would have any skill in prepping food should be be quashed immediately before the God of Cuisine descends upon them and takes out Yi Sang personally. ]

There is... a considerable amount of travel in my work. This knowledge is from experience.

[ Does the Limbus Company Bus get like, 3-4 family meals... LC seems a little stingy. ]
