They are?! I mean, I think we had stuff like this before everything went to shit, too. I just don't remember any of it. You could get anything shipped to you from anywhere else in the world.

It's some sorta mage group, I dunno the details about how it's run, but my master Fujimaru's the last one they got who can handle servants. Hell, some of the staffs servants too now, like Da Vinci and Holmes. Fujimaru already had ta save the world once from some guy named Solomon, now there's some new shit happening where some rejects are mad about it and tryin' ta destroy the world again cause of some alien god?

So there's all sorts of servants in Chaldea ta help beat up whatever our enemies throw at us, from all over the world and time.

[ Saving the world... alien god... mages... Okay, those parts are weird to him, but saving the world is something he feels for. Admittedly, his part is tiny in the ongoing war back home. ]

Wow. Sure would be nice if we could summon up guys like you to help save our world... I mean, the R&D folks have magic sorta figured out now, but they can't summon anything.

Normally, you need a grail war ta summon servants, and even then you can only summon seven, one of each class.

But Chaldea's got some sorta unique magecraft that lets 'em summon way more, whenever they want.

Grail war. Seven masters and seven servants fight each other. Winner gets the grail, which is like... this cup fulla mana that can grant any wish.

Whoa... wishing cup... Have you fought in one?

... Think so? Because of how the summonin' works or whatever, s'hard ta remember clearly the other times I got summoned.

[It's because the throne of heroes exists outside of time and space, so they aren't experiencing the chronological passing of time between the instances of them being summoned. But there's no chance Izou would understand that.]

Wait a second. You can get summoned by any old mage and you don't even get to remember all the times?

I got like. Vague senses of it? Just as well, most of the time I don't get ta fight how I want anyway since I always get summoned as Assassin.

Like... fifteen or so years ago, Earth got invaded by a shit ton of demons. If a country ain't entirely wrecked, then it's overrun, so, end of the world. We're clawing our way back, though.
