[Bouyed by the way he managed to handle the intruders, he's not about to stop. Being Seaborn really did benefit his physical state! He wouldn't have been able to do any of that before. Lumen makes the rounds again, noting who is doing what, and deciding it's time they stopped.
But first, there are kids to be dealt with because they're annoying. Sayaka gets hit with Sleep, Lumen sneering at her over her failed spell, and Sunrise getting hit with a Confuse because she might as well put that energy into helping him, possibly. Maybe she can just beat some of the others for him. But first-- he sows more discord.
Haruka and McGillis get hit with Rage, Joshua gets hit with Confuse and he so does hope that the latter will just stop trying to be a saboteur because that is annoying. Lastly, Argenti gets a Despair spell, with a murmur from Lumen that perhaps, just perhaps, he should be silent for a moment, and take that time to reflect.
Yoon, unfortunately, gets his ire solely for interupting the way he makes his rounds with that little rolling pin. It doesn't hurt all that much, especially considering what's made him bleed throughout this fight, but it annoys him on principle. Lumen steps on Yoon's foot to keep him from moving away and casts a Bless spell at him (17). And then moves away without even looking at the effects.
Fortunately for Richard, he gets ignored, but that's good enough for him to recover, right? Arven gets similarly ignored solely because he hasn't caught Lumen's eye this time around. But he could have-- both of them could have, but then Lumen comes across Celeste, Fray, and Aaron. The terrible trio that has been annoying him this entire time.
Bound, slashed, a sitting duck, and wholly displeased, maybe he should... do something more? Make something more of himself? He wriggles, grabs Celeste's whip in both hands, even if it means dropping his makeshift wand. Ow, he's bleeding, even coughing up a little blue blood, but you know what else is inside himself? McGillis showed it already, he's got a mess inside of him, and the cuts that both Fray and Aaron made are helping with their release-- he's sprouting them from his various wounds. One tentacle flails at Fray but misses (10), though he's not deterred. He uses his grip on the whip to bring Celeste in closer, while another flailing tentacle in his side nails Aaron, and quite hard at that (19).
As for Celeste? He gets his foot stepped on too, and a headbutt, before he turns around and points a finger at Celeste, casting Bless once again (19). It's a messy spell this time around solely because he doesn't have his wand, but it does the job. He's free! And wholly unhappy with this turn of events, so he heals himself up, losing the wounds and tentacles, to get ready. But he needs a new weapon, and starts looking around the arena, and up, And beyond it.]
[ He's getting roughed up considerably more than he did in Aubrey's palace, huh? The Bless damage hurts, almost as much as the last turn's damage, and Yoon is on his knees, weakened.
His will to fight, however, has not wavered.
He will make good on his promise to Sayaka and Aaron. He seems frail but his strength comes from within. So while Lumen is distracted, Yoon quietly crawls towards a patch of algae, careful not to touch it - he pulls out his spyglass and examines it. Let's see... ]
[ Being hit with Rage doesn't actually do all that much to McGillis who is already dead-set on attacking with his very physical, very real gun - and also is ignoring pretty much everyone else in his attempts to get a hit on Lumen's head.
Same old, same old.
Unfortunately even a double in attack power (3+3=6) doesn't do anything when you just... miss.... ]
[ So it's not that Sunrise isn't often confused, but this is a particular kind of confusion she hasn't experienced in a long while by now—the kind where you barely comprehend what is going on, and your brain feels like it's in cloudy soup.
Sunrise's brows furrow as she tries to focus, only manages to pick out Lumen from everyone else because she can still recognise the tentacles (hm,), and tries to cast Garula on him (9). It whiffs yet again. ]
Jordi, you can’t keep hurting them like this. That’s wrong.
[ ugh, really, with his attack ineffective, soujuurou steps forward and away from the algae. he already knows that hitting him up close is the best source of action, and he knows that someone will take care of those that have been debuffed.
so, putting himself as close as he can to jordi, he throws out an open-palmed punch with his lunge (19).
[Good, better to keep the attention on the combatants (except for all y'all getting hit by status ailments lmao rip) so Fray is perfectly fine pressing the offensive with another Thunderous Rage slash (16)! Come on, Lumen, eyes on us!!]
[It's not entirely surprising when he's the one being reeled in like some kind of fish on a line, but it does get Lumen to drop his wand, which is something, considering Aaron was trying to disarm him way back in round two.
The headbutt is nearly met with a bite (would that have ended poorly? Who knows!), but the angle is just wrong enough - and Lumen is just quick enough - that the snap is ineffective.
Unfortunately, the Bless very much is not, and it makes him drop his whip entirely and end up skidding back away from Lumen, hitting his knees and coughing from how hard the spell hit him.
Disarmed for now, and with distance between them, attempts a Maeiha, and whiffs on all counts (5, 8, 10, 6), though if one does happen to hit some algae that would be incredibly lucky and merciful and is entirely up to Ray.]
[Arven's a healer, but he's getting so frustrated that nothing seems to be working and then the one other plan he was working on Sayaka with got interrupted.
Good thing he has a nice target to take his frustration out on.]
I think it's time for a fish fry! Hestia!
[His persona, the silhouette of a woman clad in flames, breathes fire into his frying pan. After a brief windup, he hurls the fireball straight at Lumen's face (18).]
I don't know what your problem is, but we're not gonna leave until you sort it out!
[Well, Haruka is pissed all over again, so instead of doing anything that might help with the Algae Situation, he takes another jab at Lumen (11) with his sword. That bonus damage hopefully hurts, not that it'll get rid of the Rage.]
[This is truly just going from bad to worse. Thanks to Argenti's Dia and his own Diarama, Richard is back on his feet just in time to see half the party get hit with status ailments.
Immediately he's casting Energy Shower on Sunrise, Argenti and McGillis, the first two because he actually wants to help them out and the latter because he has to admit that trying to shoot Lumen seems to be working better than most of the other things that are being attempted at the moment.
But uh yep, that sure feels like it could be a cracked rib or something close to it. He's just going to cast a Dia on himself which probably doesn't help that much but is better than nothing!! He'll also muster enough energy to fire off a Magaru at the floor algae just so they can say They Tried™]
[ that confuse nails him right in the face, which, I personally think it's deserved but joshua himself thinks is extremely rude and unfair!!
that said, the spell does make his brain feel sluggish and off-kilter, so it's no surprise that his next lunge (1, heads) completely misses lumen entirely. ]
