You find yourself in historical Kyoto at night. The city is shadowy and beautiful, elegant but hostile. It's a sophisticated city, but you don't belong there and it knows it. Everyone knows it. You are being watched.

Worst of all, a terrible demon haunts the streets of this powerful capital city.

[ Eli slows at the feeling, but he doesn't stop. It would be too much of a giveaway if he did that. He finishes trying (and failing) to eavesdrop at the latest teahouse before turning, scanning the area for what might be giving him that creepy feeling (11). ]

[He almost misses it with an 11, but the last moment before he's feeling like giving up, Eli spots a shadowy figure in crowd, far away. Hard to tell if it's watching him since it doesn't have visible eyes but it's certainly weird!]

[ There! He turns toward the figure, keeping it in sight the best he can, and tries to move fast across the area to reach it, dodging and weaving through the crowded street to get there (18). ]

[The shadow figure books it-No I'm kidding. It actually stands there almost like it's waiting for Eli.

When Eli reaches the figure... well actually, unlike the first, the shape of the figure seems to be a woman. She holds out her hand to Eli, a small metal object within for him to take.]

I'm not sure if Ryouma should associate with that demon... I know they're friends but...

Well, I hope you bonk him on the head real good. I'll give you some frogs as a reward.

[ Oh. Uh, unexpected. ]

...sheesh, I know he's an asshole, but he ain't that bad. [ Kind of. A little! Regardless, he'll take the offered object. ] I'll smack him good, though. Don't you worry.

[Unless Eli knows Japanese swords, he will not be sure what to make of it. As described previously;

It is thin and flat, shaped like a segment of something round (like a pie slice). The round outer edge is gilded like the flat surface, but the straight sides are just the raw darker metal underneath.]

[She flashes him a peace sign but seems to have nothing else to say.]
