WEEKS 5 & 6
WEEKS 5 & 6
THE CALM BEFORE...
- The city has more or less bounced back after the disastrous Go-Kart race. While there are still some people recovering, no one’s hospitalized and there were thankfully no casualties - although there were more injuries than might have been expected, on accounts of some brawls that broke out among the competitors and the audience.
In spite of that, the Shopping District is feeling distinctly friendlier these days. Shopkeepers will take notice of repeat customers and be openly happy to see the better-behaved ones. They may even cut characters a discount on the sly for their patronship!
Perhaps as a result, the Nekyia Shopping District has become clear of haze much like the Nekyia dormitory started. While Shadows still lurk there, they are much fewer in number. Should characters choose to explore some more, they will find that the haze has become thinner in the Nekyia Entertainment District, allowing them to work on cleaning out the various Shadows that reside in that area.
WHAT THE FLUFF.
- Meanwhile, back at the dormitory…
…trouble is amiss, but the fun kind of trouble.
On Sunday, September 1st, it seems like there's an event for pets being hosted at the parks near the dorm! That's fine and dandy, but the trouble comes from owners being careless and letting their animals run loose. That's right, some of them have been given free rein to explore, and a number of them have taken a liking to the dormitory!
You might be able to blame Dawn – that cat from the Nekyia who also appears to give you strange items! – because she's got bowls of cat food around her that she's feasting on. It's attracted some pet cats and strays alike. As for the dogs, well, they like people. Enough said.
Why not treat yourself to some animal therapy while you can? And if not, wrangling any animals that manage to get free works too!
SUMMER DAYS.
- As summer break draws to a close, the Arcade is desperate to not only redeem its reputation, but also squeeze the last bit of pocket change out of people while they’re still on vacation. As a result, there is an ongoing discount on point cards allowing people to play competitive arcade games - Classics like Mirmo Kart and Street Slayer, as well as shinier rhythm games like Dancerun Stardom and LaiLai Universe Plus!
Of course, the hope is that characters drawn in by the arcade games will stick around for the other offerings - karaoke, bowling, ufo catchers, and even a bar (for those 21+!) And if none of these attractions are enough to catch a character’s eye, there’s plenty of other activities to be found in Carnation Court. Besides the restaurants and bars, there are many themed pop-up cafés and events, and even a few empty buildings with a very reasonable lease fee, should someone want to run an event of their own...
While the mood isn’t as open and friendly as the shopping district, it’s still worth a visit to relax and unwind a bit, preferably alongside Braphine’s other chosen. After all, there are Shadows looming on the horizon...
MESSAGE FROM YOUR RA!
Huh...? That's weird. It looks like a really big Shadow took up residence in the Nekyia. Hold on, I'll set things up so the app will give you the coordinates! Could you please check it out?

For plotting, please feel free to head over to this post on the OOC comm to post your plotting top levels.
For Nekyia commissions, you can assume that the Shadows will respawn until they've been beaten enough times to go back to normal.
Palaces start this week! Please refer to the Palace schedule here and sign ups for this week's capped Palace here

Maybe, but maybe they got a system in place to prevent any of us from the shitty worlds from interferin' with 'em. Y'know classic "screw you I got mine" mentality.

[Patting his legs before standing up, which is probably the most old man thing he's done since he got here.]
Alright, show me yer rooftop perch.
no subject
[ Eli pops up off of his seat on the table's edge. ]
We can swing by my room for the schnapps on the way.
[ Which is exactly what they'll do. There's a few full bottles and full bottles left: sour apple, watermelon, peach, coconut, and a few others as well. It's all fruit flavors, all the time. From there, it's up one more flight of stairs to a door.
Eli will have to jiggle it a bit to get it open after undoing he inside lock and there we go. They can step out onto the dorm building's rooftop. It's covered in metal in some places, the A/C, the heating, other things you find on the roof, but in front and around of the doorway is fairly open. ]
I keep thinking I should drag a couch up here or something but I haven't yet.
no subject
Yeah, why not? Nice view up here. Be a nice romantic spot ta make out away from yer roommates, too.
[He says this in a teasing tone, before taking a seat on the rooftop.]
no subject
I mean, yeah? I don't even want to think about macking on someone somewhere Arven could walk in on at any time. The poor guy would die.
no subject
[That doesn't require??? Making out????]
Now gimme one'a those bottles.
no subject
[ He'll pass Izou the alarmingly bright green sour apple bottle before setting the rest down by the A/C unit and dropping down to sit next to it, too. It acts as a good backrest. ]
Celeste and me got pretty comfy up here, anyway, but I definitely do not suggest falling asleep. Uncomfortable as fuck.
no subject
[He takes a swig from the bottle as he hands Eli the cup of sake he carried up here.]
Yeeeesh, that's potent. Real sweet but also real sour.
[He can't decide if it rules or he hates it.]
no subject
[ He's an outdoors booooy, living in an inside world. ]
Yeah, that's why I haven't drunk much of that one. The sourness really threw me off. Here, peach is better.
[ He holds that bottle up instead. It'll still be strong, but the flavor is gentler. ]
no subject
Yeah, that one's jus' sweet. Honestly prefer the green one. Sweetness with nothin' ta balance it out or fight it's too much fer me.
no subject
no subject
[As he continues to drink the sour apple schnapps. Yes, very refined.]
no subject
[ Izou can keep the sour apple. He'll keep drinking the peach himself. ]
no subject
[Sir.]
no subject
[ Oh well. Eli isn't going to harp on him about it. ]
Sit your ass down here and let's see how much of this we can polish off.
no subject
[That's not how anything works. But he is getting comfy next to Eli]
You guys got enough bottles of this stuff ta poison at least three people, I think.
no subject
[ Though he laughs about it, so it can't have been all bad? ]
The hangover was a real bitch, too.
no subject
[Thank god this is pre-Argenti palace so Izou isn't Jealousy Man.]
But yeah, I've heard if ya drink a lotta sugary drinks, it makes yer hangover worse. I usually just drink sake and sometimes beer, so it ain't a problem I got.
no subject
It does? The fuck... Why?
no subject
I dunno, I ain't a chemist. How was yer hangover after you drank this stuff with Celeste?
no subject
[ Eli's making a mental note to lay off the sweet stuff going forward... ]
no subject
Did ya spend the night with Celeste??
no subject
Yeah? We fell asleep up here.
no subject
[He doesn't know if he's disappointed or relieved???]
I think if I fell asleep up here Mafuyu's be cross with me.
[Given his injuries.]
