WEEKS 5 & 6
WEEKS 5 & 6
THE CALM BEFORE...
- The city has more or less bounced back after the disastrous Go-Kart race. While there are still some people recovering, no one’s hospitalized and there were thankfully no casualties - although there were more injuries than might have been expected, on accounts of some brawls that broke out among the competitors and the audience.
In spite of that, the Shopping District is feeling distinctly friendlier these days. Shopkeepers will take notice of repeat customers and be openly happy to see the better-behaved ones. They may even cut characters a discount on the sly for their patronship!
Perhaps as a result, the Nekyia Shopping District has become clear of haze much like the Nekyia dormitory started. While Shadows still lurk there, they are much fewer in number. Should characters choose to explore some more, they will find that the haze has become thinner in the Nekyia Entertainment District, allowing them to work on cleaning out the various Shadows that reside in that area.
WHAT THE FLUFF.
- Meanwhile, back at the dormitory…
…trouble is amiss, but the fun kind of trouble.
On Sunday, September 1st, it seems like there's an event for pets being hosted at the parks near the dorm! That's fine and dandy, but the trouble comes from owners being careless and letting their animals run loose. That's right, some of them have been given free rein to explore, and a number of them have taken a liking to the dormitory!
You might be able to blame Dawn – that cat from the Nekyia who also appears to give you strange items! – because she's got bowls of cat food around her that she's feasting on. It's attracted some pet cats and strays alike. As for the dogs, well, they like people. Enough said.
Why not treat yourself to some animal therapy while you can? And if not, wrangling any animals that manage to get free works too!
SUMMER DAYS.
- As summer break draws to a close, the Arcade is desperate to not only redeem its reputation, but also squeeze the last bit of pocket change out of people while they’re still on vacation. As a result, there is an ongoing discount on point cards allowing people to play competitive arcade games - Classics like Mirmo Kart and Street Slayer, as well as shinier rhythm games like Dancerun Stardom and LaiLai Universe Plus!
Of course, the hope is that characters drawn in by the arcade games will stick around for the other offerings - karaoke, bowling, ufo catchers, and even a bar (for those 21+!) And if none of these attractions are enough to catch a character’s eye, there’s plenty of other activities to be found in Carnation Court. Besides the restaurants and bars, there are many themed pop-up cafés and events, and even a few empty buildings with a very reasonable lease fee, should someone want to run an event of their own...
While the mood isn’t as open and friendly as the shopping district, it’s still worth a visit to relax and unwind a bit, preferably alongside Braphine’s other chosen. After all, there are Shadows looming on the horizon...
MESSAGE FROM YOUR RA!
Huh...? That's weird. It looks like a really big Shadow took up residence in the Nekyia. Hold on, I'll set things up so the app will give you the coordinates! Could you please check it out?

For plotting, please feel free to head over to this post on the OOC comm to post your plotting top levels.
For Nekyia commissions, you can assume that the Shadows will respawn until they've been beaten enough times to go back to normal.

One gunshot is enough to tell anyone within earshot that he's found his quarry already.
More is what gets Celeste running, preparing himself to find the worst, and already trying to decide what to do if that is the case. Surely he wouldn't be alone in reacting to the shots, and if he did manage to be first to the scene - whatever the scene ended up being - words would have to be chosen carefully if the combatants in question were still alive.
The scent of blood permeates the second floor, and it takes no time at all to find the pair of them, both bleeding, both yelling - or trying to, both grappled to the point where further attacks are more salt in wounds than high risk, or so he can hope.
Careful words go right out the window.]
That is e-nough.
[He may not know Dominate - and he wouldn't use it right now on either of them even if he did, even if this world would allow it, as there's too much respect for both of them - but his tone still sounds like something that should have power behind it.
Someone else might appeal to their humanity, or to the fact that two other people have already died, or how they're supposed to be here to make friends, not to fight one another.
Pleas from inexperienced children and hopeless idealists.
He's too pragmatic for that. They're too pragmatic for that, and seemingly too caught up in their hate for one another to relent on such flimsy pretenses - and if they did, it would likely only be for the sake of whoever asked, and they'd be at each others' throats again soon enough in the coming days.]
Your squabbling does a disservice to the people in your memory you're fighting about, and surely calls danger down on the rest of us besides. You're better than this.
[Let their arguing turn to childish 'no he isn't!'s. Let their anger turn on him instead for defending the bastard they'd clearly, obviously, like to kill.
There's no physical intervention as yet, and he hopes there won't be the need for it, though he suspects there might be.]

Get the fuck off of him, or you're going to have two problems on your hands, rich boy!

So what Eli gets in response is a glare that looks so feral that it barely resembles the McGillis they have all come to know.
He is making absolutely no move to get off Izou and is in fact grasping harder at his shoulder injuries to cause him extra distress. Turnabout is fair play, right?
Fortunately Soujuurou also rushes in and is a bit more hands on?? ]
no subject
He's going to make a grab for Izou instead if McGillis ends up pried off of the guy. ]
no subject
[He doesn't know what he said. He didn't make the situation worse on purpose, and with a crowd gathering it's not the time to explain.
He's not sure there will ever be a good time to explain, but that's a problem for later.
So with Eli making a grab for Izou, and with others pulling on McGillis, Celeste... also gets his hands in those injuries (sorry Izou) to both try and disconnect McGillis's grasp on him and, more subtly, give him something to hold on to as being jostled surely hurts to say the least.
And with his attention firmly on McGillis-]
Calm down. It's over.

Get offa me, Eli! I gotta get my sword so I can finish this asshole off!!
[IZOU NO ONE IS GOING TO LET YOU DO THAT]
no subject
Shut the fuck up, Izou! What happened to all the bullshit about trying to be more than some killer, holy shit?!
no subject
Sometimes killin' is necessary, Eli!
[IS IT???]
no subject
[ Anyone in the way is getting barked at and shoved aside because he's dragging Izou out of this room and into another, whichever dorm is across the hall. Split the problems, please. ]
no subject
Same thing that got done to me except he killed the damn guy himself! Even said he made sure it was as bad as possible!!
[This is not going to help McGillis's case.]
no subject
[ also no random dorm room now has to deal with blood on the floor, rip ]
That's... shit. Look. Okay. I get why you'd want to off the guy, but it ain't really your place to? I'm still pissed at Tin Can over the whole "I killed that guy because it was right blah blah blah" shit, so c'mon.

[HE DOESN'T WANT TO BE BETTER RIGHT NOW HE WANTS TO BE AN ANGRY MURDER HOBO!!!]
no subject
[Not that he thinks McGillis is a monster, here, but it's pretty obvious Izou does, so... we can smooth over any hurt feelings on the other side later, if he even notices.]
How does getting the attention of this shitty world's fucking conflict god do any good? Kill him after the war is over, if you still feel like you must.
no subject
Also once Soujuurou chokes McGillis out it's harder for Izou to argue she should be allowed to do a murder. Even he wouldn't kill an unconscious foe.]
.... Tch. Fine.
no subject
Thank you, Izou. You're a good man.
no subject
[Now that he's cooling down, he is realizing what a stupid thing to do this was.]
no subject
[It was a very stupid thing.]
You're trying, though.
no subject
[This is his defense.]
no subject
[It's a good defense, if one only saw things from Izou's perspective. Unfortunately he's kind of straddling the fence, here.]
I also think he was lashing out and trying to rile you up and presented the circumstances in the worst way possible to do so.
