WEEKS 5 & 6
WEEKS 5 & 6
THE CALM BEFORE...
- The city has more or less bounced back after the disastrous Go-Kart race. While there are still some people recovering, no one’s hospitalized and there were thankfully no casualties - although there were more injuries than might have been expected, on accounts of some brawls that broke out among the competitors and the audience.
In spite of that, the Shopping District is feeling distinctly friendlier these days. Shopkeepers will take notice of repeat customers and be openly happy to see the better-behaved ones. They may even cut characters a discount on the sly for their patronship!
Perhaps as a result, the Nekyia Shopping District has become clear of haze much like the Nekyia dormitory started. While Shadows still lurk there, they are much fewer in number. Should characters choose to explore some more, they will find that the haze has become thinner in the Nekyia Entertainment District, allowing them to work on cleaning out the various Shadows that reside in that area.
WHAT THE FLUFF.
- Meanwhile, back at the dormitory…
…trouble is amiss, but the fun kind of trouble.
On Sunday, September 1st, it seems like there's an event for pets being hosted at the parks near the dorm! That's fine and dandy, but the trouble comes from owners being careless and letting their animals run loose. That's right, some of them have been given free rein to explore, and a number of them have taken a liking to the dormitory!
You might be able to blame Dawn – that cat from the Nekyia who also appears to give you strange items! – because she's got bowls of cat food around her that she's feasting on. It's attracted some pet cats and strays alike. As for the dogs, well, they like people. Enough said.
Why not treat yourself to some animal therapy while you can? And if not, wrangling any animals that manage to get free works too!
SUMMER DAYS.
- As summer break draws to a close, the Arcade is desperate to not only redeem its reputation, but also squeeze the last bit of pocket change out of people while they’re still on vacation. As a result, there is an ongoing discount on point cards allowing people to play competitive arcade games - Classics like Mirmo Kart and Street Slayer, as well as shinier rhythm games like Dancerun Stardom and LaiLai Universe Plus!
Of course, the hope is that characters drawn in by the arcade games will stick around for the other offerings - karaoke, bowling, ufo catchers, and even a bar (for those 21+!) And if none of these attractions are enough to catch a character’s eye, there’s plenty of other activities to be found in Carnation Court. Besides the restaurants and bars, there are many themed pop-up cafés and events, and even a few empty buildings with a very reasonable lease fee, should someone want to run an event of their own...
While the mood isn’t as open and friendly as the shopping district, it’s still worth a visit to relax and unwind a bit, preferably alongside Braphine’s other chosen. After all, there are Shadows looming on the horizon...
MESSAGE FROM YOUR RA!
Huh...? That's weird. It looks like a really big Shadow took up residence in the Nekyia. Hold on, I'll set things up so the app will give you the coordinates! Could you please check it out?

In a few places, he stops and holds up a hand for Aubrey to do the same as he listens again, reorienting himself. Soon enough, it'll be easily heard, clear as day.
He steps close to the side of a distorted building, waving for her to follow suit as he inches toward the corner to take a peek. ]
no subject
But sure enough... there's a Mokoi, muttering darkly to itself.]
no subject
...that's the most butt ugly demon I've seen in a while...
no subject
Are you ready?
no subject
[ On that note, he launches himself out from behind the corner and attacks! Or! Tries to. Oh boy. He summons Garm to power up Overruff and launches the spikes of ice at the Mokoi (7).
They all miss.
Every single one.
Now the Mokoi is looking at him. Uh. ]
no subject
[Her turn to charge in - hitting the Mokoi with a solid Bufala (16).]
no subject
[ Sure, Eli, sure. Regardless, the Mokoi howls in surprise as Aubrey hits it hard and forces it to retreat a few steps. From that increased distance, it'll throw its weapon of choice — a boomerang i kid u not — only to miss both of them (7).
Eli, ducking the boomerang, charges in again with a Bufala (20) of his own. Punch, punch, baby, he's knocking that thing flat on its weird green ass this time. ]
no subject
Doesn't seem that hard to hit to me.
[So she says, as it casts Matarukaja to boost its attack. That's probably fine!]
no subject
Ha, we got this!
[ But now it's time for the Mokoi to get its revenge. Rather than attacking outright, it turns towards Aubrey and lets loose a torrent of blinding light and sparkles at her with its Dazzler (13) debuff! ]
no subject
[Blinking dizzily after the strike - her aim is wobbly, but she does still manage to nail it with a swing of her bat! (11)]
no subject
[ Eli moves to pull Aubrey away, but it'll be for naught. After the beating they already delivered this thing earlier, the nailbat to the head finishes it off with a ghostly wail as it collapses into void gunk. ]
...damn, you got it.
[ Only the Dizzy debuff... doesn't go with it. ]
no subject
[She brings a hand to her head, closing her eyes as though that would give her time for her vision to recalibrate.]
'The heck was that?
no subject
[ Probably not. It's dizzying to have Dizzy, though when Eli reaches out to put a hand on her shoulder, hoping to help steady her, the dizziness wanes somewhat. ]
no subject
[...
Oh! That helps.]
-Or maybe not? I feel better now.
[Not in top shape but able to walk more or less straight, surely.]
no subject
[ Which means Eli is pulling his hand away from her shoulder. Surprise, the debuff returns once he does. ]
no subject
Gah-!
no subject
[ Aaaaa, what?! He immediately reaches down to help her back up. ]
What happened?!
no subject
I-I don't know! It just keeps going and coming back!
no subject
The hell...? Shit. I can't even clear stuff like this with any of Garm's spells.
no subject
Ugh, me neither...
Can you tell which way we need to go to head back?
no subject
Hey, hold my hand again.
[ He holds out said hand for her to take. This doesn't answer her question, though, yes, he can tell. ]
no subject
...And slowly lowering her hand from her head as her vision stops swimming. She's doing it, she's connecting the dots.]
...Wait.
You can't be serious...
no subject
...my touch is magical now? Wow. What the fuck.
[ Eli, no. ]
no subject
[Eli, no.]
I think touching someone else makes it go away.
no subject
[ He is. ]
Th...! That's what I meant, okay?!
