The party can see, if just for a moment, the swirling Teal and Magenta energies within Sou. The internal fight of "I can't die" and "I can't let Kanna die". It seems like the conflict that created this palace had been going on even since then.
But the end was never decided by Sou, no matter how much he pleaded. It was always up to Sara.
And Sara chose for Sou to die.
Somehow, he's not scared anymore. Knowing Kanna, his one and only sister, will live a little bit longer is enough for him. He closes his eyes and accepts his fate. That 0.0% chance of surviving remains true.]
[It doesn't take long for them to catch up. He's bleeding from several bullet holes in his body, all looking serious but none an instant killer. He will bleed out before too long, but he's bought himself a few more minutes.
As he limps down to a room close by, he can't help but laugh pitifully at himself.]
