... In the other room, I found those cards that declared someone's chance of survival. Sou- Shin Tsukimi was rated with a 0.0 percent chance. I think... he chose to lie. And is lying still.

It also feels like... things I say are being ignored? Not just my name, but when I insisted on looking for others, they still seemed to be working on a different script.

...If it's a script... does trying to change what happened even matter? Is it even possible to make him stop lying?

It makes me wonder if there was any point to the contract vote, too.

This whole time, we've been kind of sticking to the script, haven't we? Maybe we should try changing it.

But wouldn't they dogpile him if we took the other option?

Would they? That woman seemed to be acting like the knowledge was a special perk.

I don't know. [ he shakes his head. ] I tried to be honest in his memory and I got dogpiled, so I guess I can understand why he would think that lying is the better option. But I'm just saying that we haven't tried the option of going against what Sou would normally do.

You're right, we haven't...

But I'm worried about him.

I think it might be worth a shot, at least. To see if being honest could end up paying off.

[...Granted, she thinks back to trying to change the script in Kirumi's palace and how that went, but maybe it's worth a shot this time...?]

It could... or it could land us in an even worse situation.

[ he sighs. ]

How frustrating.

[Sayaka gently pats Soujuurou's shoulder.]

It's deeply frustrating, because we don't know what could end up happening. We're...we're flying kind of blind here, aren't we?

[And boy is that scary!]

[That gets a pause from Sayaka, to say the least.]

Yeah, the same thing happened to me. When I was asked to show a 'collar' that was on him, I only needed to mime the movements to prove that I had one, too. Otherwise, I got some answers out of the guy I talked to, though I'm not sure how useful they are to us.

[Hmm.]

I guess...the question here is do we stay on script, or do we try to defy it?
beathollow: (CA. 038)

[personal profile] beathollow 2024-10-14 12:06 am (UTC)(link)
That's the question. We've been following the script until now...
destage: (SWEAT ♡ I'm scared...)

[personal profile] destage 2024-10-14 12:19 am (UTC)(link)
And who knows what could happen if we try to defy it and it gets Sou-kun killed...

[They're basically trying to believe in a group of people they don't even know, huh...]
finalmix: (12)

[personal profile] finalmix 2024-10-14 12:11 am (UTC)(link)
The only question is whether it's worth trying to defy the script now and seeing what happens, or to try it further down the road where there are more likely to be worse consequences.

[ bc. you know. death game. ]
destage: (CONCERN ♡ You doin' me a frighten)

[personal profile] destage 2024-10-14 12:22 am (UTC)(link)
[Mmm.]

That is a fair point. Maybe...maybe we should try to see how the rest of the group reacts by staying on script for now, but see if we can find a good point to defy it?

If we try it now, it could end very poorly, unless...maybe, somehow, it does something different. But if we try to see what's to come and plan accordingly, maybe we can pull something off later with better knowledge, though it could end worse...

...It's frustrating to think about, I won't deny it.

[They're basically trying to make a gambit while only having a few of the metaphorical cards in their hand. How much can we bullshit, even...]

[personal profile] speedingticket 2024-10-13 11:48 pm (UTC)(link)
[ ... ]

...When I looked in the mirror, I didn't see my face. It was...his. Sou's.

[ He got the name— ]

They may not be working from a script. They might just...not even see us for who we are, and only see him, I guess.

0.0 isn't even a fighting chance.

If he chose to lie to even raise that number by 0.1, is that the next move we're supposed to pick?

... The name he chose is likely... "Sou Hiyori", given how we know him.

( and given what a piece of shit that guy was, she hates that! )

Maybe not just his name. After all, it was based on simulations of his actions... and one's actions are not tied to a name.
