[The small bit of light will reflect off of Joshua and Aubrey's face, providing a small bit of illumination. Those nearby will also be able to see the light, and if they get closer to the pair then they too will be somewhat visible. However, nothing else reflects the light here, not even the ground under their feet. It's like they exist in absolute darkness.
Then, from within the darkness, they will hear a familiar voice:]
[What's illuminated, also, is a bit of Shalem's iridescent tail. He's lingering on the edges of the spell, and doesn't move in closer. This is enough for him.]
Hello, Sou. [Soft, cordial. As if they're not all in complete darkness.] Feeling better?
[ Rutile doesn't recognize the voice, but he does see the group. So he drifts towards it, and puts himself firmly within the radius of the light... Is this another movie? He's scared. ]
Ahahahaha! I guess not. But you do have the power of choice in this game of death, and it's best to use it wisely. You'll have to survive to the very end if you want to find 'me'.
[Suddenly, big bright words show up in the darkness:]
MAJORITY VOTE
At times while investigating, you will reach a point where there are several paths forward. To decide the path forward, you will all be given a chance to vote. Whichever option has the most votes will be the path selected.
[The words disappear, and two figures appear in the dark: a blue man and a red woman.]
Mr. Blue: I love majority votes! They represent the way democracy should be, following the will of the people! It's a method that minimizes conflict!
Ms. Red: I hate majority votes! They're just a way to silence the minority! It only makes darkness build in the shadows!
[Then the following text is shown in front of them:]
Who's opinion do you support? Mr. Blue, or Ms. Red?
As soon as the result is determined, a heavy weight falls down from above, crushing Ms. Red in an instant. All that remains of her is some splatters of blood on the weight.]
Aww... she died.
But your side had more votes. With that experience, you've learned the terror of a majority vote.

Ah. So you came all the way here, did you?

Why do you assume any majority exists to silence a minority? Can't a majority work to better the lives of a minority, too?
