Consuming any of these items will give a full heal.

One of the shadows has also left behind a simple black box.

[Izou takes up Eli's role and just eats one of the sandwiches without even questioning it ]

It doesn't have any flavor, unfortunately- which is odd, because you could surely recognize Arven's cooking. But it's warm, and full of love. Unlike the bland misery of the feast, somehow it stands out. Is it the crunch of the crust contrasting the soft pillowy bread? The texture of the ingredients together?

Either way, despite not being able to taste it, you know it's delicious.

Izou is Fully healed.

[He sees the sandwich that Izou picks up and just stares at it with simmering anger. He heard what the maids said about the food behind the curtain.

He mutters under his breath:]

I bet it’s better than anything you could ever make.

Yes!

…Heh. Knew it.

[Arven has cheered up a little, thanks to the voice.]

[Ugh... shaking her head now that the brainwash has been cleared.]

What the heck was that?!

I don’t even know. The maids suddenly turned into those things.

[He didn’t see Izou causing it.]

What were the maids like? We didn't run into any monsters where we were.

They were…fine? I guess? They didn’t seem that off to me.

[Joshua can definitely say otherwise though.]

I got dirty early on, so I figured I'd lay low. I'm surprised anything about this place seemed normal.

A liiiiittle pushy, but if you attack anything in their domain or catch their attention they turn into Shadows and attack. I got ambushed by a couple earlier, in the apple orchard.

...Wow. Glad I didn't bother talking to anyone.

[Her smirk is self-aware, she thinks it's a funny haha joke as opposed to a normal solution to these problems.]

[Arven heaves a sigh and treats himself to some apple tea…even if the lack of taste makes him upset all over again. At least it reminds him of the times he had this tea with Mafuyu.]

A warmth blooms through his chest. Times with friends, with people who love you... that, too, heals all pain. The scent still wafts through the air, and the cup is hot and comfortable in his hands.

Arven is fully healed.

he watches other eat the food first, and once he figures that it's okay, he'll have some of the hot cocoa. ]

It's warm and creamy, even if he can't taste the chocolate. The marshmallows are partially melted at just the right consistency, and he gets a feeling of being out in the cold, watching the twinkling winter lights with friends. Someone insists on cocoa and there's the feeling of warmth despite the chill. Friends really do make everything better, don't they?

Soujuurou is fully healed.

Mm. I'm in heaven.

[ it's just a sugar cookie but the heal is more important ]

It's a wonderful sugar cookie, shaped and decorated like snowflakes and rabbits. He still can't taste them, but he can feel a buttery texture, the soft crumbly joy of a good cookie and the frosting is soft beneath the firm set outer coat. Was this a birthday gift? It was made with love.
