post palace hot pot party (week 7)

[Yoon's Palace has faded away, but the fact the God of Conflict decided to show up and intervene again...

Well, that's! Not a good sign! To say the least! But there's nothing to be done about that right now, and Haruka isn't of the mind to really sit and wonder about divine conflicts and grandstanding and all of that, anyways. It's not his problem. The people who deal with that sort of thing on the regular can be in charge of all of that.

What he's in charge of (by virtue of being annoying) is... hot pot. Specifically rounding up everyone and dragging them out to a hot pot restaurant in the city.

He'll miss having money but... he'll just have to work hard to earn it back... Have fun, everyone. (Or maybe he can find a way to charge Mina for this?)]

[Oh, Atem realizes this might be bad. They're going to be eating hot pot for weeks at the dorm, aren't they?

He grins despite himself, his face betrays nothing.]

I'm looking forward to it.

[The weather is at least good for it! And look, he's finally fetching some tofu from his own soup pot!]

You remind me a lot of someone I know... He wasn't keen on fighting and violence either. Actually, he's the one who taught me the importance of being kind to one another.

[ He's quiet as Atem speaks. He doesn't say a word. His eyes glance back to his hot pot, which he begins to stir idly. ]

That's good. Being kind to one another is how we should make the world a little better – that's how I see it, at least. I know even some of my friends would disagree. Even so, sometimes...we're backed into a corner like this.

It's made me thankful that no one tried to hurt me today.

Yes, sometimes it's inevitable.

[He hums in thought.]

And there are many who perpetuate it for one reason or another. Because they're hurt. Because it's easy.

[He carefully folds his cabbage and tofu together with the rice.]

It took me many years to understand that kindness is a choice.
