[What a lot of damage to sustain right off the bat! The blows from Aaron, Haruka and Celeste catch Lumen's attention the most, but especially the former, being the closest, and the one to hit him the hardest. He stumbles back, panting and looking quite winded and in pain, before forcing himself to stand upright and casts a healing spell on himself, looking much less dizzy (but not Dizzy) once the light of the spell dies down.
Not one to let slights stand, he bares his teeth like a beast, points his coral-like wand, and sends a strong Bless spell right in Aaron's face (18), though it looks more like clear water creating a rainbow than a beam of light. In the same motion, he turns on his heel and fires two similar spells in succession-- one completely misses Haruka (10) but nails Celeste with much stronger force (19) than he managed previously. Then, as if an afterthought, he flicks his wand at Sayaka, sending a Dizzy her way.
Satisfied with his handiwork (to some extent), he knows he has to give the others something, but he's a bit too distracted with the way Argenti simply whiffs.]
Oh Argenti. [There it is, a sign that Lumen does recognize some of them.] What was that spell? You were so impressive against the Archangels, so impressive against Fuyu and yet...? Have We Many rattled you so?
[There it is again, "the Many", "We Many". He clearly counts himself among them, whatever "they" are. In fact, he's too busy laughing at Argenti, a supposed extremely strong knight, that Fray, Yoon, Joshua, Soujuurou, and Arven get completely ignored. They're safe this time!
Unfortunately, Sunrise's effort manages nothing, earning her a laugh of derision while Lumen is busy corraling all these people gunning for him. Again, the algae spreads out once more. It may even be just underneath someone's feet right now. Can anything actually stop it?]
[Oh, that dizzy promptly sends Sayaka tumbling to the ground--she tries to avoid it but well. It's not exactly avoidable and she's trying not to look completely thrown. She feels blurry, she can't see, even Atropos looks worse for wear--
But she tries to look at Jordi.]
M--Many? Why are you so insistent on Many? What about--what about you, Jordi-san...?
[Atropos attempts to fire off an Agi (4), but whiffs completely. Give them both a moment...]
[Right, right, Fray's a Utility character, he should probably do Utility things. He pauses his advance for the time being, since Lumen isn't focused on him for now, and sends a Me Patra spell at Sayaka. That should cure her Dizzy status for next round, at least!]
[Sayaka barely hears her name being called, but the Me Patra hits true--Sayaka feels her dizziness wear off, and both she and Atropos are strong again. It takes a few seconds to see Fray, but--]
[ Argenti really isn't doing well when it comes to hitting Jordi for some damned reason. He's probably close enough to try another psy-level magic spell but honestly for some reason it just fizzles out or something (10)
Wow! Talk about embarrassing! This is how I explain he misses twice. ]
I am still not certain why you called yourself the Many.
Therefore, I don't see a reason why I would be rattled.
[ Though he feels something like embarrassment sliding up the back of his neck. He is used to performing extraordinarily well in battles. Even with magic.
...Unfortunately there is a side of him that doesn't like the idea of fighting Jordi. He loathes it, in fact. This is skirting far too close to some very unpleasant memories. And it might be affecting his battle capability right now; he just doesn't think that it's true, though. ]
[He's busy nursing the blow from the Bless spell because owie but that's not going to stop him from shouting at Argenti!!]
If you can't hit the broad side of a barn, then figure out how keep that creepy-ass shit on the floor from getting closer! Didn't you notice something weird about it on the way up?
[ If anything that makes him tighten his hand on his spear. Whether or not he misses because he's still stubborn. ]
...But, I shall mention someting I spoke about before. There was only one point where it wasn't growing over the surface of. It was the wall with a small hole in it.
I suppose it could potentially mean that if the ground or wall where it tries to grow on is damaged it won't necessarily move there, but I am uncertain.
[ Fuyu...that name rings a be-- oh. Oh, right. Someone died by Argenti's blade. That part doesn't phase Yoon and he wants to believe that Argenti had his reasons. What does, however, is Lumen making a mockery of someone else's death.
He has to hold himself back from socking Lumen in the face. Instead, he casts Media, which only heals Aaron (per the multitarget rules).
...Casting heal...and this person's name is -- ]
You. You were the one who offered healing services to us last week, weren't you?! You don't want to hurt us, do you? They do!
[ "They" being whoever "We Many" entails. He'll also cast Marakukaja and raise defense for Celeste. ]
[Sorry for being scary, Arven! The energy shower is much appreciated, but before he can actually, vocally, thank him for it, he's hit hard with that Bless spell and sent skidding back across the floor.]
Fuck... ow...
[He does take a second to just kind of. Lay there. While he gathers himself, but does pull himself back to his feet sooner, rather than later, looking pretty rough and more than a little singed, actually. Huh. Weird.
But with Lumen continuing to speak of himself as a plurality, and with how hard that Bless hit, Celeste tries to fire off a Maeiha at him, with about half of the charges landing. (9, 12, 1, 13)]
I'm fine, thanks to you two~ [He is! For the most part!] He... hit me with holy light, actually. My persona is both strong and weak against it, so... I guess I am, too.
[And, you know, holy things burn vampires, but that's entirely a flavor side effect because of powers shenanigans here. Anyway-]
Whiiiich is just as weird for a freaky fish guy, but less weird for someone talking like he's some kind of cultist.
[ the many? what is the many if not a mindless hive? a system of beings guided towards the same goal. all the same. all identical. like an army of ants that moves fearlessly not out of courage, but due to the simple lack of knowledge of fear. it can only act as it’s told.
soujuurou can’t talk about individuality, because he doesn’t know what that is. he was not raised to want or desire or think for himself. so all he can do is act on his impulses, pushing through his confusion (heads)to attack the enemy before him.
with cold, dead eyes, and surprising speed for such an average looking guy, he does a lunge (19). yeah, he’s wide and open for jordi/lumen, but does it look like he cares? ]
[Like, it's probably fair considering he also nailed Jordi earlier but still, that shit smarts. Thankfully, Yoon's Media does heal up most of the damage and he's ready to go for another round of attacking, advancing once again so he can slash at the arm holding the wand in an attempt to disarm or, barring that, hinder any counterattacks (19).]
[ Curse you mindscape logic...! She hurriedly backs away from the spreading algae, turning her attention to the fight proper now since she is out of ideas on how to deal with the algae.
She casts a Rakukaja on Aaron since he's one of the people fighting in close combat, and then she aims with her rifle. Behind her, Ushas reaches down over Sunrise's shoulder with her many arms, loading a bullet (Sunrise still doesn't know this is a bullet) before Sunrise fires off Here Comes the Sun (10).
...It misses, possibly because Sunrise's rifle ironically has no rifling. There is a brief, bright flash of light wherever it ends up hitting instead regardless.]
[After he manages to get Celeste some much-needed healing, Arven tries to take advantage of the fact that Lumen is currently ignoring him to launch a sneak attack with his frying pan--
However, he fails to notice that the algae has crept further up. One wrong step gets him tangled in some of it, causing him to topple over (1). The hunger immediately starts to take over, shocking his system.]
Augh--!!
[In case no one saw such a critical blunder, Mabosstiff barks to draw attention so his Trainer can be saved. He tugs at Arven's shirt in the meantime to try to help pull him out.]
[ Thank you Mabosstiff. Ssunrise is still nearby after her failed attempt to set the algae in fire, so she heads over and reaches to grab Arven's arm to wordlessly pull him out.
Despite being relatively short and tiny compared to most people here, she's surprisingly strong even if she's kind of dragging Arven out from the algae. ]
[ even though he's a fighter he's not about to jump into the fray (again) so he's absolutely letting soujuurou and aaron take the lead in the melee attacks.
he is, however, moving to the end of the first row closest to the stairs because if the algar keeps advancing that could be, bad? he's going to fire a makouha spell at the algae (8) because if fire doesn't work-- maybe another elemental spell will? worth a shot even if that doesn't exactly work out!!! ]
