["Merely" scorch marks to someone who is a bit more uh. Flammable. Than most is kind of unsettling, so it makes sense that his cursory search through things as he continues on up is... probably not all that great (3).
Though with the light dimming some, he does finally pull out his phone to use the flashlight on it to not trip over anything, at least.]
[A flashlight is at least helpful and will help him conserve energy on his phone, so he'll swap to using it instead. With that said, it keeps flickering as he ascends so he's gonna be a little busy rattling it as he looks around (8). Stupid piece of shit!!!]
