[Outrage only puts the onus of managing emotions on the one affected, and sympathy... it's patronizing. Especially to someone functioning under the illusion that they've put the matter at hand behind them.

Of course it did.

[If understanding could sound like sympathy, though, now would be the time those lines would bleed together. Because that's close enough to when his own "clientele" shifted that he understands the significance. It leaves an unpleasant taste in his mouth.]

And no one would believe you if you told them, because of where you came from.
